Salve,
La struttura sarà la stessa per ogni tema, la grafica pure ad eccezione del logo nell’header.
Nel mio caso, conviene sfruttare il multisite di wordpress? O forse meglio se gestisco i vari temi proprio come blog separati?
Quali potrebbero essere svantaggi e vantaggi in entrambe le soluzioni?

se è tutto uguale allora il multisite ti sarà utile. E’ un po’ più complesso da installare rispetto al normale però è comoda la gestione centralizzata. Fa attenzione al fatto che molti plug-in non sono compatibili con il multisite, in caso li dovrai sostituire con equivalenti compatibili.
In alternativa da un’occhiata a ManageWP http://managewp.com/ non ci guadagno nulla a segnalarlo. L’ho utilizzato e l’ho trovato molto comodo specie nel caso di siti già creati.

il tool creato da Prelovac è ManageWP. L’ho usato per i miei siti durante il beta test, a mio avviso il rapporto costi/benefici è molto vantaggioso visto il tempo che fa risparmiare. Ho scritto le mie impressioni nell’articolo ManageWP: gestire molti siti WordPress da un’unica dashboard.
Per gestire domini multipli da un’installazione network di WordPress il plugin è WordPress MU Domain Mapping.
Li trovi le istruzioni dettagliate per la configurazione.

con WP Multisite puoi avere temi differenti per ogni sito e condividere il resto dei plugin. Sarebbe stato meglio installare tutto come multisite all’inizio ma lo puoi ancora trasformare in multisite. Nota che non tutti i plugin supportano il multisite.
In alternativa puoi gestire le 4 installazioni non come WordPress multisite ma utilizzando ManageWP. E’ un servizio di terze parti ed è a pagamento (io non ci guadagno nulla a consigliartelo) però dopo averlo utilizzato posso dirti che il tempo risparmiato ripaga abbondantemente il costo.

Personalmente sto iniziando ad utilizzare WPML (WordPress Multi Language) che è a pagamento ma non costa molto e funziona bene. In pratica te lo ripaghi con il tempo risparmiato.
Per quanto riguarda le soluzioni per gestire un sito multilingua in wordpress ti faccio vari scenari ordinandoli dal migliore in giù.
1) Registri un dominio per ogni nazione di cui ti interessa la lingua. Poi crei un sito monolingua per ogni dominio. I siti monolingua li puoi fare in due modi:
1A) Se non hai tempo e vuoi/puoi spendere qualcosa ti consiglio ManageWP. Ne parlo in dettaglio in questo post: “WordPress Multisite con ManageWP“. Con ManageWP puoi raggruppare vari siti in WordPress e gestirli da un’unica console. Puoi clonarli in pochi clic e tradurre il clone mantenendo l’installazione normale di WP. Poi applichi gli aggiornamenti o installi plugin ecc tutto in una volta senza doverti connettere uno ad uno.
1B) Se hai tempo e non vuoi/puoi spendere crei una installazione multisite di WordPress. A mio avviso dispendiosa in termini di tempo perché è un po’ più complessa da fare, non tutti i plugin la supportano quindi a volte sei costretto a cambiarli ed è un po’ rigida. Però ha il vantaggio che viene tutto gratis.
A mio avviso tra 1A e 1B scegli tu in base al tuo scenario: il risultato finale è ottimale in entrambi i casi.
2) Installi un unico sito WordPress con in abbinato un plugin per le lingue. E’ peggio della precedente per il SEO perché Google prende una lingua come principale e le altre pesano di meno.
2A) WPML
2B) qTranslate
In questo caso il lavoro è più veloce ma il risultato meno ottimizzato per il SEO rispetto al caso 1. Però può andare bene se per esempio hai fretta o vuoi creare una cosa e vedere se funziona prima di investirci di più.
Sicuramente se puoi/vuoi pagare la fee di ManageWP io scegliere la strada 1A
