provo a ri ri spiegarmi:
– vai nell’admin panel di WP, o dashboard, o amministrazione o come lo chiami
– ci sarà da qualche parte un menu dedicato a nextgen (nelle precedenti versioni era l’ultima voce nella barra di sinistra.. sotto “impostazioni” e si chiamava “gallery”, se ora è cambiato non lo so, ma sarà sempre qualcosa di simile)
– nel sottomenu ci sarà una voce dal nome “options” (o se hanno cambiato, qualcosa di similare)
– nelle opzioni ci sono diverse schede, tra cui una chiamata “slideshow”
– vai lଠe controlla sia le impostazioni, sia che ci sia tutto quello che serve e non ci siano indicazioni di qualcosa che manca.
Detto questo, torno a specificare che lo slideshow è gestito da nextgen gallery.. e il codice da inserire è quello già citato più volte. Imageflow è sଠun plugin per nextgen, ma quello che fa l’abbiamo detto prima. E’ qualcosa di aggiuntivo, non un qualcosa fondamentale per far funzionare qualcosa. Quindi il fatto che potrebbe servire un qualche altro elemento, non ha nulla a che vedere con il fatto che hai un plugin del plugin. Se il plugin originale ti chiede un dato elemento per funzionare, quello devi dargli. Il componente di cui parlavo prima è un componente generico che permette di eseguire slideshow in flash

hai verificato le opzioni dello slideshow? come l’hai impostato? ti richiede qualche componente? (inteso dall’amministrazione, non come segnali di errore, che probabilmente non darebbe in nessun caso)
PaperPartecipantelo slideshow è sempre basato su una gallery… quindi tu crei la gallery con le immagini che vuoi far girare.. ti segni l’id della gallery.. e poi inserisci [slideshow id=x] nel post/pagina. Come dicevo prima, al posto di x va l’id della gallery che vuoi mettere in slideshow, altrimenti la funzione non ha il riferimento alla galleria d’immagine e non trova i file.
poi se guardi nelle faq su wp extend, trovi altri esempi di shortcode, varianti ecc.. tipo [slideshow id=x w=width h=height] ecc.

PaperPartecipantebhè, dovrebbe essere ovvio che se si vuole usare un plugin per nextGen gallery, bisogna prima aver installato ques’ultima.
Ma a parte questo.. Imageflow non è che aggiunge la funzione di slideshow a nextgen, ma aggiunge un certo tipo di animazione durante la rotazione delle immagini. Anche perchè nextgen ha già la funzione di slideshow.. quindi perchè aggiungere qualcosa che già c’è?
Del resto, basta leggere la descrizione del plugin:

Riguardo lo slideshow, se rileggi la mia prima risposta, ti avevo scritto “con next gen gallery dovresti poter fare quello che ti serve.. magari prima controlla nelle feature… ” e se lo fai, nell’elenco trovi:

Infatti io tempo fa in un blog usavo nextgen.. e quei pochi slideshow che ho fatto, li ho fatti da là¬, per questo te l’avevo consigliato come plugin.. poi ti ho detto di verificare perchè essendo passato del tempo, magari nelle ultime versioni la cosa poteva essere cambiata.
Dunque, per implementare uno slideshow in una pagina o in un post, la cosa è abbastanza semplice:
1) prima ti carichi le immagini che vuoi mostrare
2) imposti tutto quello che ti serve da nextgen (effetti, dimensioni, transizioni ecc ecc)
3) come per ogni altro plugin con cui devi implementare qualcosa nel testo, inserisci il giusto shortcode. fine
Ora tu mi chiederai che shortcode devi inserire. A parte risponderti con “è tutto scritto nelle istruzioni d’installazione del plugin, che andrebbero sempre lette”, ti dico anche che sono questi: ‘[nggallery id=x]’ oppure ‘[slideshow id=x]’. Ovviamente i nomi parlano da soli.. e altrettanto ovviamente al posto di x devi inserire l’id che t’interessa.

qualcosa di più recente c’è?
Visto che mi parli di “tantissimi, alcuni molto validi”, consigliami direttamente quelli che ritieni più validi in base alle tue esperienze, cosଠnon dobbiamo andare avanti ad esempi o a plugin abbandonati
anche perchè nel titolo ho scritto “che funzioni su 3.0.1” non a caso.. e nel post ho scritto che altri tipo wp-postratings (che tempo fa usavo.. e lo userei anche ora se non fosse fermo dal 2009) non li provo perchè non aggiornati da tempo.. quindi non vorrei avere problemi sia di compatibilità con wp, che con altri plugin.. o comunque anche se funzionassero, non vorrei avere problemi al prossimo aggiornamento.. perchè comunque il destino dei plugin obsoleti prima o poi è quello. Certo, il plugin “eterno” non esiste.. prima o poi bisogna cambiare.. però iniziare con un plugin che al momento dell’installazione è già vecchio di parecchi mesi (o anni), mi pare poco consigliabile.
Poi, di liste di plugin fatti dai vari siti (che si copiano lo stesso articolo tra di loro traducendolo in varie lingue o scopiazzandolo brutalmente) ne ho viste parecchie, ma anche in quel caso, la maggior parte dei plugin sono ormai obsoleti e non vengono portati avanti.
Perchè ovviamente, se per trovare l’alternativa a tutti i costi devo mettere un plugin con dei problemi, o mal supportato dallo sviluppatore ecc, allora tanto vale tornare a GD che almeno può dare qualche sicurezza in più sotto questi aspetti.

Al solito una bella ricerchina su wp extend può dare risultati interessanti.. ad esempio io ho cercato “gallery” e ho notato questo:

Che tra le features ha anche quella dello slideshow.

Nota comunque che è solo un esempio eh, non conosco questi plugin.. quindi non so dirti nulla sull’effettivo funzionamento, la compatibilità ecc ecc, però è solo per darti qualche spunto.
Altrimenti ci possono essere anche i gallery plugin dei vari servizi di hosting foto tipo picasa e simili, che in alcuni casi hanno anche funzioni di slideshow ecc per wp, oltre alle normali gallery.. ma anche queste sono tutte cose che su wp extend sono elencate… e cercando bene probabilmente troverai anche cose migliori di quelle che ho trovato io “al volo”.
PaperPartecipantebhè, ma teoricamente, puoi farlo dalle impostazioni.. sia gestendo il menu principale del tema, sia aggiungendo menu personalizzati (c’è la funzione apposita). Poi ad esempio, se vuoi visualizzare tutto nella sidebar, per i link puoi usare l’apposito widget e cosଠvia. Una volta che hai tutti i widget impostati come li vuoi tu, li muovi nell’apposito menu e li ordini nella sidebar come meglio preferisci.
PaperPartecipantefondamentalmente, ti basta cercare una gallery free che abbia la funzione “slideshow”.. che è appunto lo scorrimento automatico delle immagini (quali lo decidi tu). Poi ovviamente ci sono quelle che semplicemente scorrono.. e altre che magari ti danno qualche opzione per impostare effetti di transizione.
Se non sbaglio, con next gen gallery dovresti poter fare quello che ti serve.. magari prima controlla nelle feature…
PaperPartecipanteparere personalissimo mio… forse ti conviene spiegare cosa vuoi fare tu.. quale risultato vuoi ottenere.. e magari trovi chi ti spiega come farlo nel modo più semplice e indolore.
PaperPartecipantepremesso che nelle impostazioni o in altre pagine relative al plugin nell’amministrazione di wp, magari c’è qualche indicazione in merito sulle stringhe da usare.. penso che le informazioni dettagliate le devi cercare nella pagina dell’autore (vedi link “plugin homepage” in wp extend) e se non trovi quello che cerchi, inserisci un commento e aspetti risposta direttamente da chi il plugin l’ha fatto.
Comunque, a naso, immagino che la template tag sia una cosa del genere < ?php randomtext(‘category’); ?> dove ovviamente al posto di category devi inserire l’id della categoria che vuoi visualizzare.
Similarmente, è la stessa cosa quando usi uno shortcode nell’editor di testo di wp quando fai una nuova pagina o ne editi una esistente.. ma per questo ti ho postato prima l’esempio, che poi è quello che puoi vedere su wp extend.
