Beh… dice di caricare la cartella shockingly-simple-favicon in /wp-content/plugin/ e di caricare via FTP la tua favicon nella root del tuo sito/blog – poi attivi il plugin lato amministrazione wordpress e dovresti avere la tua favicon nel browser. Non so dirti adesso di preciso in quanto utilizzo il primo plugin che ti ho consigliato… fai qualche prova.
macavanziPartecipanteFavicon Manager potrebbe fare al caso tuo – l’installazione è semplice. Puoi sempre cercarne altri nella Directoty Plugin di WordPress.org – Shockingly Simple Favicon ad esempio… vedi un pò.
macavanziPartecipanteDevi eliminare le tabelle relative a WordPress (quelle che iniziano con wp_) contenute nel tuo DataBase. Questa operazione la effettui dal pannello phpMyadmin che Altervista mette a disposizione sul tuo account. Solo dopo aver fatto questo puoi reinstallare da zero.

Mi scuso della castroneria detta, in effetti il plugin dovrebbe ridimensionare le immagini di default a 800 x 600 (il peso del file non credo). In Opzioni Generali/Immagini si può cambiarne il valore. Molto probabilmente non mi sono mai accorto di tale funzione avendo sempre “preparato” le immagini prima di caricarle via FTP. Mi scuso ancora.
macavanziPartecipanteNextGen Gallery ridimensiona si le foto ma solo per quanto riguarda le miniature, miniature di cui tu puoi decidere le dimensioni configurando il plugin lato amministrazione (vedrai che ci sono diverse opzioni sia per gli album che per le slideshow e le gallerie). Caricare foto da 4 MB l’una non mi pare l’ideale. Lavora sulla risoluzione immagine e magari portale a 800 x 600 con un peso che non superi i 200 KB. Un esempio di gallerie lo trovi qui’
Per inserire una galleria, slideshow o album in un articolo usa il pulsantino relativo che si trova nell’editor di testo a lato e selezioni la galleria/album da inserire e come inserirle. Organizza però prima le gallerie per nome e le copertine degli album. Un esempio di slide qui’
Controlla sul sito dell’autore se presente la localizzazione in italiano cosଠmagari ti è più facile configurare il plugin lato amministrazione.

macavanziPartecipanteHo avuto anche io il medesimo problema qualche tempo fa sempre su piano di hosting linux. Ho aperto un ticket verso il mio host e hanno risolto agendo sul safe mode del mio account. Hai già contattato Register.it in merito?

Comunque basta tu cancelli i files della 2.7 dalla tua installazione di WordPress escluso il file wp-config.php e la cartella wp-content e ricarichi nuovamente il tutto via FTP. Disattiva prima i plugin attivi e metti come tema quello di default. Prova un pò… poi se quel plugin ha fatto altri danni non saprei dirti.
