Faccio un ultimo tentativo… se mi aiutate visto che fino ad esso siete stati molto gentili (grazie San Pietroburgo per tutte le risposte in questo post).
Cosa rispondo all’hosting? Sperando che legga il mio ticket qualcuno di più compentente …
non vorrei far spendere altri soldi (questo servizio hosting effettivamente costa molto poco). Entrambi i siti non sono miei personali ma di associazioni di volontariato di cui faccio parte che operano in modo gratuito, ecco perchè non esiste nessun webmaster e facciamo tutto da soli pur essendo inesperti…

Comunque adesso ho due cose che non mi sono chiare:
– il sito che funziona … ma ha alcune cartelle a 777 le devo portare a 755? (lo so fare manualmente)
– il sito che non funziona tutto quello che ha radice (http://miosito.php/wordpress/wp-admin ) ha tutti le cartelle a 755 e tutti i file a 644 modificati da me manualmente. Posso fare qualcosa per aggiustarlo io ?

ladymukPartecipanteSuggerisco di migrare al più presto altrove, chissà quante altre cose non sanno fare in questo ambiente e nel futuro potresti trovarti con problemi assai più gravi. Amministratori di sistema non ci si improvvisa; solamente in Italia capitano queste cose.. Potrebbero prendere un cingalese, costa meno e rende di più.
Effettivamente è una soluzione che ho preso in considerazione…solo che mi spiace buttare via i soldi spesi fino ad esso…
Qualche suggerimento per rattoppare la situazione fino alla scadenza del contratto? (settembre)
Oppure consigli per un buon servizio hosting ?

ladymukPartecipanteHo dato uno sguardo al loro sito ed alle faq, ma di permessi (chmod) non dicono nulla, come nemmeno trovo a quanto ammonta il valore memory limit nei vari piani di webhosting (memory limit da non confondere con lo spazio disponibile, sono due cose totalmente diverse).
Rileggendo questa discussione ho notato che una settimana fa’ hai detto di:::
Il file htaccess risulta … empty … quindi vuoto!!!
Ho provato a rigenerarlo (creando un .txt ) però è sempre vuoto.
Quel file non deve avere alcuna estensione, quindi .txt non può funzionare ed inoltre non puoi metterlo manualmente nella root ma vuoto.
WordPress il file .htaccess lo genera (o lo scrive se è già presente) solamente nel momento in cui si pigia il tasto conferma alla voce permalinks del menù impostazioni. Pertanto metterne uno vuoto significa che è come non averlo sin quando non viene fatta la procedura anzidetta.
Quindi il consiglio è:::
1. Creare il file da cPanel nominandolo .htaccess
Dopo lo scarichi in locale, lo apri con un editor di testo (notepad va benissimo) ci scrivi le sue regole, chiudi, salvi e fai l’upload nel server sempre attraverso cPanel o FTP;
2. da cPanel setti i permessi delle directory a 755 mentre per i file 644.
Allora riguardo il file .htaccess mi sono espressa male non intendevo che aveva estensione .txt ma che avevo eseguito la procedura (e modificato con il notepad).
Comunque ho seguito la procedura inserendo queste regole:

RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index.php$ – [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f

Ma si è impicciato tutto!!!!
Adesso si invece di andare nel pannello di amministrazione non mi visualizza più l’error 500 ma la pagina home del sito!!!! (ho pulito la cache e cambiato browser).
Non capisco … ho provato a vedere un altro sito che ho sempre installato io e non dà problemi :
il file .htaccess contient solo:
# BEGIN WordPress
# END WordPress
(che era quello che conteneva il sito “rotto” prima della “rottura”.
i permessi delle dir sono settati quasi tutti a 755 tranne le cartelle wp-admin , wp-content, wp-includes che sono settati a 777 e qualcuno delle loro sottocartelle.
i file a 644 tranne wp-config.php a 666 … è un impazzimento.
A questo punto vorrei provare di nuovo a cancellare la cartella wordpress e installarla nuovamente, ma sono sicura che i permessi ritornebbero a 777 per le dir e 666 per tutti i file e starei da capo a dodici.
Avete consigli, la situazione si sta facendo disperata

ladymukPartecipanteIn via generale i permessi dei file sono 644, mentre quelli delle directory 755. Ovviamente questo aspetto lo conosce (o dovrebbe conoscere) il System Admin del servizio di hosting ed è lui che dovrebbe ripristinare la tua installazione se non è presente un apposito comando per l’utente.
Sempre in via generale e per motivi di sicurezza, impostare 777 equivale a nulla.
La “via generale” significa che molti host lavorano cosà¬, ma esistono anche diverse eccezioni; ad esempio aruba ed altri.
Potresti innanzitutto dire di che servizio host si tratta; faciliterà il compito di coloro che rispondono (potrebbe essere che qualche altro utente lo conosce).
I permessi non li cambiare manualmente attraverso FTP, poiché ci mette una vita..
Giusto, è Pegaso Hosting (http://www.pegasohosting.net/), i permessi li ho cambiati da cpanel, è molto veloce … ma se non so come impostarli non ne esco…. proverò a ricontattare l’hosting, magari troverò qualcuno che mi risponde più esperto, grazie mille…

Cosa posso dire al mio servizio di Hosting per avere i permessi “come li avevo prima?” è evidente che è cambiato qualcosa… gli faccio l’esempio di un altro sito (sempre mio) che so funzionare perfettamente?
L’hosting è un server Linux …
da cosa si stabilisce se un file o una cartella necessita di permessi 644/666 755/777 ?

Per i permessi il sysadmin del servizio di hosting può ripristinarli in pochi secondi con due comandi.
Il sito in firma vedo utilizza il tema di default ed immagino non abbia plugin; pertanto l’errore nell’accedere alla dashboard potrebbe essere un valore molto basso del memory limit per la tua installazione su quel server.
Si, il sito è quello in firma, utilizza tema di default perchè è stato appena installato, quindi non ha neanche un plugin installato.
Ho provato a chiedere aiuto all’hosting ma non sanno nulla di wordpress nè di permessi ad esso necessari.
Quando vado qui …. /wordpress/wp-login.php/ mi dà la pagina login e sembra del tutto funzionante. Quando però provo a fare login , mi porta a wordpress/wp-admin presentandomi la pagina di internal server error.
Ho anche un altro sito che ho installato da pochissimo e ancora in costruzione, non mi presenta alcun problema. Sbirciando nei suoi permessi vedo che alcune cartelle sono 777 altre 755 , alcuni file 644 e altri 666 ma non ne capisco la logica…come posso riproporla in quest’altro sito? (che ha funzionato bene per due anni?)
Se installo nuovamente WP mi dovrebbe riportare i permessi tutti a 777 e 666 quindi mi dà sicuramente di nuovo Error 500.
Scusa non so cos’è la dashboard. Inoltre su questo hosting ho installato WP sempre normalmente, cosa può essere cambiato nel memory limit ? (Che c’entra con lo spazio fisico disponibile?)

allora ho notato che effettivamente non tutti i permessi delle cartelle e dei file rano giusti. Io avevo controllato i permessi ma non di TUTTI I FILE UNO A UNO ….
comunque mi sono armata di santa pazienza e ho modificato tutto . Ora la home del sito funziona.
QUello però che non va è l’indirizzo:
http://http://www.miosito.it/wordpress/wp-admin/ questa pagina dà ancora internal server error.
Forse ho dimenticato di aggiornare i permessi di qualche file (anche se non mi sembra), oppure qualcosa non deve essere 644 per i file e 755 per le cartelle.
C’è un modo per capire dove sta l’errore ora che è più circoscritto ?

ladymukPartecipanteLe regole le trovi nella pagina Impostazioni permalink. Puoi farlo tu o lasciarlo fare in automatico a WP rendendo il file scrivibile solo per quel momento.
Per quanto riguarda i permessi non c’è una regola fissa per tutti, possono cambiare a seconda dell’hosting e di quello che ti “permette” di fare
Qualcosa però mi dice che il problema non è solo quello… comunque naturalmente prova.
Effettivamente avevo già provato, ho riprovato ma niente.. . tutto come prima.
Penso sia strano che continua a dare errore anche dopo un reset, che non sia stato fatto nel modo giusto. Avete altri suggerimenti ? La situazione si fa disperata…
Una cosa tanto per conferma:
Io di solito installato wordpress in una sottodirectory “wordpress” appunto. Solo il file index.php lo sposto nella root dove è presente anche htaccess (che ci si mette da solo). Sono giusti questi passaggi? O forse dovrei provare ad installare tutto nella dir principale?
