Ciao Titti, innanzitutto grazie per aver risposto.
Da alcune parti della tua risposta ho avuto l’impressione di non essermi forse spiegata bene, quindi specifico ulteriormente un paio di cose.
Non aggiorni WP da tre anni, ovvio che è “buggato”. Quindi oltre alle cose che ti dico sotto dovrai poi anche controllare che il sito non sia stato hackerato.
Non e’ che non aggiorno WP da tre anni per volonta’ mia, ma perche’ il pulsante “aggiorna” che si dovrebbe premere – come riportato in ogni guida che ho letto finora – non esiste da nessuna parte, cosa che e’ stata confermata dai tecnici del mio hosting che hanno provato ad aiutarmi. Comunque il sito – o meglio il server su cui si trova il sito – e’ stato in effetti hackerato a fine 2016, non so se questo possa c’entrare qualcosa.
Per il resto, la prima cosa che devi fare è aggiornare WordPress. Lo devi fare manualmente, seguendo queste istruzioni estese (leggi anche le istruzioni per gli aggiornamenti da versioni molto vecchie), dopo che avrai scaricato il pacchetto italiano da qui.
E’ quello che hanno fatto i tecnici del mio hosting per aiutarmi, ma anche dopo l’aggiornamento manuale il pulsante di aggiornamento continua a non esistere, in piu’, per qualche motivo legato alla compatibilita’, tutte le immagini sul sito – seppur ancora presenti nella sezione “Media” – sono sparite dalla versione pubblicata online.
Non esiste MAI che non si aggiorni WordPress a causa di un tema o di un plugin.
Non mi sembra di aver mai detto una cosa simile, dato che non la penso neppure… Ho detto che il tema che sto usando, dopo l’ultimo aggiornamento, ha presentato problemi di incompatibilita’ con la mia versione WP, da la’ mi sono accorta del problema piu’ grande, ossia che non riesco ad aggiornare WP a causa del pulsante mancante.
Comunque grazie dei suggerimenti/consigli, ora vedro’ come procedere.
