ciao gollum, mi sembra che ti stai quasi rispondendo da solo, non ti seguo per niente quando cominci a parlare di ajax… ma se vuoi mettere la sidebar in fondo alla finestra del browsere, come fai a rispettare le dimensioni/risoluzione dello schermo?
Non è la sidebar che voglio inserire in fondo, ma avere una gestione più versatile del footer…
provo a spiegarmi meglio…
tema a 1 colonna…

i casi sono i seguenti:
1) altezza della pagina del browser meno altezza dell’header e del footer maggiore dell’altezza del container, voglio che il footer rimanga appoggiato sul fondo della pagina del browser.
2) altezza della pagina del browser meno altezza dell’header e del footer minore dell’altezza del container, voglio che il footer sia posizionato sotto il container, quindi per vederlo devo fare lo scrol dello schermo.
situazione attuale:
punto 1 – ok fissando il footer con la proprieta absolute position.
sto provando a fare i css condizionali, con l’uso di css.php, il fattore è che non posso fare style.css.php, in quanto non viene visto da worpress per indicarne il tema nella gestione dei temi, ma pare che si riesca ad ovviare a questo attraverso la direttiva
@import
all0interno del file style.csspraticamente il mio style css ha solo l’intestazione per farlo vedere come tema nel gestore di wp, e poi una serie di @import che caricano i vari css.php…
su alcuni browser pare funzionare (firefox e IE su winzoz, konqueror su linux) su altri sembra che qualche problema ci sia (firefox su linux)
vi aggiornerò sugli esperimenti… (se avete suggerimenti sempre ben accetti)

gollum1PartecipanteMi viene in mente che si potrebbe usare ajax e quindi le proprietà DOM, che a quanto so permette di inserire “oggetti” nel flusso della pagina, ma la mia conoscenza di queste tecniche si ferma qui, c’é qualcuno che ha qualche informazione in più da darmi?

gollum1Partecipanteè possibile fare dei css condizionali (mi ricordo che una volta ero riuscito a fare un css che conteneva codice php, l’estensione era css.php, quindi veniva prima passato dal preprocessore php e poi spedito come css puro e semplice al browser, ma per quanto riguarda wp una cosa del genere sarebbe fattibile?
con uno di questi sistemi potrei fare in modo che il footer cambi in funzione della pagina che sto visualizzando…
ma come faccio a sapere se la parte tra l’header e il footer è abbastanza piccola da desiderare di usare il footer bloccato sul fondo della finestra, piuttosto che il footer che segua il contenuto della pagina?

gollum1Partecipante@wolly, hai ragione su quasi tutta la linea, però potrai convenire con me che le ultime versioni di WP non è ben gestito dal wiki?
una volta era anche facile da consultare, ora mi pare una raccolta molto eterogenea e caotica…
per di più non so per quale motivo quando faccio una ricerca nel wiki mi appaiono una serie interminabili di errori tutti uguali:
” Warning: Division by zero in /home/.jimmie/steveagl/wpitaly.it/wiki/index.php on line 940″
e non sempre i risultati della ricerca sono soddisfacenti (certo, potrebbe anche essere un problema delle parole cercate, ma spesso anche mettendo una parola chiave di wordpress succede questo)
nel vecchio wiki c’era tutta una parte che permetteva di conoscere anche le varie funzioni, i tag, i template che potevano essere usate nella personalizzazione di wordpress, ora invece non riesco più a districarmi nella marea di informazioni non sempre facili da districare…
quello che mi spiace enormemente è non conoscere approfonditamente wordpress, e non avere abbastanza tempo per conoscerlo quanto basta per poter aiutare a organizzare il wiki e portarlo ad essere quello che era…
Nel mio piccolo cerco di capire come funzionano le varie cose leggendo il forum, spiando le soluzioni di chi implementa temi e plugin, quando leggo qualcosa a cui riesco a dare una risposta cerco anche di intervenire, ma sinceramente non sempre è facile…
e comunque rimango sempre dell’idea che siete veramente grandi con il grandissimo lavoro che state facendo per rendere semplice anche a chi non se la cava egregiamente con l’inglese per accedere a questo strumento che trovo sempre eccellente…

Ciao wolly, mi sto trovando nella stessa situazione del post originale, forse non è stato ben chiaro gennaro, ma quello che si vuole ottenere non è di visualizzare una pagina con il suo contenuto statico, ma fare una pagina che possa far visualizzare i post di una singola categoria, nel mio caso…
ho fatto una pagina chiamata NEWS, in cui vorrei far visualizzare i post della sola categoria news.
ho seguito il wiki, ma non funziona, per il semplice motivo che wp cerca sempre di farmi visualizzare il contenuto della pagina e non il contenuto della categoria…
questo perché le pagine sono visualizzate con ?page_id=7 nel caso delle pagine, quello che si vorrebbe ottenere è qualcosa di simile a quando invece l’indirizzo contiene ?cat=1… ma nella pagina…
spero di essermi spiegato più adeguatamente…

gollum1Partecipantepotresti anche mettere phpexec come plugin, che ti permette di mettere del codice php nel post, a questo punto credo che nulla ti vieti di fare un include del file che vuoi inserire

l’ho trovato tra i tools che ho nella “web developer toolbar” di firefox (su linux l’ho scaricato dai repository debian, ma credo che ci sia il plugin proprio nel sito delle extension di firefox)
funziona bene, per quel poco che ho provato.
