Buongiorno,
avrei bisogno di un aiuto per un problema legato allo spazio web del mio sito (www.starszone.it). L’hosting è TopHost che prevede 10 GB di spazio web, il blog è attivo dal dicembre 2012 e ha già lo spazio web in esaurimento. Non si tratta di un blog con un grande traffico, i contatti sono mediamente 2000 al mese, i commenti sono molto pochi, gli articoli sono una ventina ogni mese. Non pensavo assolutamente che con questi numeri avrei occupato tutto lo spazio in poco più di un anno. Vorrei chiedere suggerimenti/consigli per ottimizzare al meglio lo spazio.
Preciso che ogni articolo al suo interno ha una immagine, e ormai nella libreria media ci sono circa 450 immagini (anche se sono tutte di pochi kb). Spero l’unica soluzione non sia quella di dover cancellare dei post, vorrebbe dire snaturare il blog stesso perché vorrebbe dire togliergli la sua “memoria storica”. Vi chiedo se ci sono soluzioni meno radicali.

Aumentare lo spazio con un’altro piano e utilizzare i tool tipo page speed per vedere cosa migliorare.

TopHost nn permette di aumentare lo spazio web, e francamente pensavo dopo circa un anno di non aver bisogno di ulteriore spazio web.

Non conosco tophost, ma se per spazio web intendi quello sul server, i commenti e i post non c’entrano nulla. Li ci sono solo le immagini, i temi e i plugins e ovviamente wordpress.
Se invece intendi il database 10 giga sono una inezia, li riempi in un attimo a maggior ragione se utilizzi plugins che ti aggiungono tabelle.
Per entrambi esistono plugin che ottimizzano lo spazio.

Parli di spazio web e poi parli di traffico, hai le idee confuse perché non è la stessa cosa. Il traffico e i contatti non c’entrano con lo spazio.
Lo spazio web si calcola moltiplicando il peso di ogni pagina per quantità di pagine.
La banda (quella che c’entra con il traffico, eventuali scaricamenti, ecc…) si calcola n° visitatori al giorno per peso di pagine visitate al giorno.

Grazie, a tutti per le delucidazioni. Sono riuscita a risolvere: era tutta “colpa” dei backup del db che in automatico si salvavano nello spazio web. Ora li ho cancellati ed ho riacquistato tutto lo spazio di cui ho bisogno!
