Ciao, è diverso tempo che ho problemi con il mio sito (lo trovate in firma). Dopo due anni ho eliminato wordpress per fare una nuova installazione ma continua a dare problemi (internal server error … per esempio ora su tutte le pagina con radice http://miosito.it/wordpress/wp-admin)
Ho chiesto aiuto al mio servizio di hosting http://www.pegasohosting.net/ (linux) e mi hanno risposto questo:
Gentile cliente,
temo che ci sia un po’ di confusione.
PHP può girare in differenti modalità : DSO o FCGI con suPHP.
Nella prima modalità è necessario creare directory 777 affinchè PHP abbia i permessi di lettura e scrittura sul filesystem.
Nella seconda modalità è espressamente vietato, giacchè PHP gira con l’utente cPanel/FTP e ha già tutti i permessi di cui ha bisogno senza alcun bisogno di reimpostare le directory su 777.
I vostri due siti web risiedono su server che utilizzano tecnologie FCGI con suPHP e pertanto è espressamente vietato l’utilizzo di cartelle 777. Dovreste rimuoverle tutte. Potete verificare come è stato installato il vostro sito web?

In realtà io ho chiesto perchè installando wordpress sul loro spazio mi inserisce tutte dir a 777 e tutti file a 666 e modificando tutto a 755 e 644 comunque non funzionano delle pagine .
Avete consigli? Sto quasi per arrendermi …

Il system admin del tuo servizio di hosting con questi due distinti comandi:
Per i file
../iltuospazio.tdl# find . -type f -exec chmod 644 “{}” ;
Per le directory
../iltuospazio.tdl# find . -type d -exec chmod 755 “{}” ;
In pochi secondi rimetterebbe ordine a tutti i permessi della tua installazione. Se davvero ti suggeriscono di cancellare le directory ed i file, allora significa che chi mette le mani nei server è un improvvisato, dilettante ed INCOMPETENTE.
Suggerisco di migrare al più presto altrove, chissà quante altre cose non sanno fare in questo ambiente e nel futuro potresti trovarti con problemi assai più gravi. Amministratori di sistema non ci si improvvisa; solamente in Italia capitano queste cose.. Potrebbero prendere un cingalese, costa meno e rende di più.

Effettivamente è una soluzione che ho preso in considerazione…solo che mi spiace buttare via i soldi spesi fino ad esso…
Qualche suggerimento per rattoppare la situazione fino alla scadenza del contratto? (settembre)
Oppure consigli per un buon servizio hosting ?

Rattoppi non ne vedo. Ripeto; se davvero quella che hai postato ad inizio thread è la risposta avuta dal servizio di hosting, ciò significa che stai dialogando con persone che non sanno dove mettere le mani.
Per i suggerimenti bisognerebbe innanzi tutto conoscere qual’è il budget di spesa per anno; quanto paghi adesso, se il nome di dominio lo hai comperato idem con loro oppure altrove, quante installazioni (Siti web) saranno posizionati nel server, quante visite giornaliere fanno in complessivo.. Se te la cavi con l’inglese, questo nella eventualità si decida per un host all’estero, etc.
E poi ricorda, i servizi di hosting sono un po’ come la cravatta che si sceglie di indossare; piace a me, ma non è detto piaccia anche agli altri..

Grazie per i consigli … ora ci ragiono su.
Comunque adesso ho due cose che non mi sono chiare:
– il sito che funziona … ma ha alcune cartelle a 777 le devo portare a 755? (lo so fare manualmente)
– il sito che non funziona tutto quello che ha radice (http://miosito.php/wordpress/wp-admin ) ha tutti le cartelle a 755 e tutti i file a 644 modificati da me manualmente. Posso fare qualcosa per aggiustarlo io ?

Il sito che funziona immagino che se gli cambi i permessi non funzionerà più. Il problema è che avere chmod 777 significa grossi problemi di sicurezza.. Ad esempio, un qualsiasi utente dello stesso server (quando questo è condiviso ed il tuo lo è) potrebbe entrare nella tua installazione e farne ciò che vuole, ma non soltanto questo.. Il deface di un sito web avviene e spesso è possibile, proprio per queste disattenzioni da parte di chi, nel servizio di hosting, configura i server.
Il sito che ha directory 755 e file 644 è in un server Apache, PHP, fcgi e suPHP; deve funzionare cosଠperché quello è lo standard.. Il tuo non va per “dilettantismo” dell’amministratore di sistema che, a monte della tua installazione, idem avrà impostato cose “a caso”, chmod ed altro del tutto sconfigurato.

Cosa rispondo all’hosting? Sperando che legga il mio ticket qualcuno di più compentente …
non vorrei far spendere altri soldi (questo servizio hosting effettivamente costa molto poco). Entrambi i siti non sono miei personali ma di associazioni di volontariato di cui faccio parte che operano in modo gratuito, ecco perchè non esiste nessun webmaster e facciamo tutto da soli pur essendo inesperti…

Cosa rispondo all’hosting? Sperando che legga il mio ticket qualcuno di più compentente..
Tutto dipende dal servizio di hosting e se a loro interessa vendere un servizio al 100% compatibile con WordPress.. Credo di si, giacché è il CMS più diffuso ed utilizzato. Quindi scrivigli dicendo che comunque non funziona, nemmeno con i permessi (chmod) configurati corretti come da loro indicato; al ticket allega un link a questa discussione.. Sperando non finisca in polemica.
Vivo in Russia ma sono disponibile a parlarne ed eventualmente suggerire, con skype si può fare. Inoltre, se non ricordo male, era già capitato in passato che WordPress Italia aveva aiutato qualche host italiano per adeguarsi a funzionare bene con WordPress..
