Ciao a tutti,
sono nuova del forum e spero di trovare da voi una soluzione per un problema che ho al sito che curo da circa 10 giorni.
Premetto che l’hosting NON E’ ARUBA quindi non posso usufruire della spiegazione che ho trovato nei post in evidenza.
Ho installato (2 anni fa) una versione di wordpress (quella più aggiornata allora ma non ricordo che versione è, forse 2.7).
Stavo facendo delle prove per il cambio di grafica, ho selezionato un tema che mi piaceva, l’ho installato, l’anteprima non me la dava ma non ci ho fatto caso ed ho cliccato il pulsante “attiva” e da qual momento mi ha dato internal server error.
Ho girovagato su internet per cercare una soluzione, mi sembra sia una questione di permessi di file e cartelle.
Velendo provare la soluzione sono andata su cpanel ma … sorpresa… mi era impedito l’accesso .
Il supporto tecnico del mio hosting mi ha risposto che:
Tale errore si verifica in due casi:
– quando delle variabili in php sono scritte male o quando c’è qualche errore nel codice sorgente che manda in tilt l’interprete php;
– quando vi sono delle impostazioni per Apache impartite tramite .htaccess che non sono regolari.
Quindi era un problema di webmaster e loro mi potevano solo resettare il sito …
Mi sono fatta modificare le pw di cpanel per avere l’accesso e ho provato a cambiare i permessi dei file contenuti nella root:
– la cartella worpress ha i permessi a 755
– il file .htaccess ha i permessi a 644 (ho provato a settarli a 666 e 755 ma non è cambiato niente)
– il file index.php ha i permessi a 644 (ho provato anche qui le modifiche)
nella stessa directory c’è solo il file error.log che non ho toccato .
Ho provato anche a inserire le due righe suggerite nel file wpconfig … ma niente
Ho cancellato il file .haccess e rigenerato di nuovo … ma niente
Che cosa posso fare?
Che dati vi servono per poter darmi suggerimenti?

Dalla lunga descrizione non ho capito se hai aggiornato WordPress all’ultima versione oppure sta ancora alla 2.7 (o giù di là¬).
Comunque in entrambi i casi dal cPanel rinomini la directory del tema che ha creato il problema, semplicemente aggiungendo OLD alla fine; la trovi al percorso /wp-content/themes
Magicamente WordPress ritorna al suo tema di default, che deve quindi essere presente nella cartella themes e, se non c’è, allora prima di tutto caricalo da FTP.
Per i permessi invece dovresti chiedere al tuo servizio di hosting quali sono quelli corretti, solitamente (ma non sempre) 755 per tutte le directory e 644 per tutti i file.
Tra le altre cose andava anche dato uno sguardo al memory limit, semmai alzandolo con la regola da scrivere nel file wp-config.php, la trovi qui nel Forum ripetuta migliaia di volte.. Ad esempio qui:::

Ciao, grazie inanzitutto per la risposta.
Io non ho installato la nuova versione di wordpress ma sono rimasta sempre alla vecchia (2.7 o giù di là¬) per paura he potesse succedere qualcosa tipo “internal server error”
Ho guardato nella cartella theme e ho le seguenti cartelle:
billions
chep-life
classic
default
painter
weaver
il tema PAINTER è quello che ho sempre utilizzato
ora non mi ricordo quale tema ha dato errore, mi sembra billions … ho rinominato _old billions, cheap-life e weaver ma non è cambiato nulla.
Essendoci il tema default non devo ricaricarlo via ftp … giusto ?
Ho mandato una mail per richiedere i tipi di permessi al servizio di hosting.
Il messaggio memory limit non lo visualizzo … potrebbe essere quello il problema e comparire comunque “internal server error?”

Come non detto …. funziona!!!
Il sito dopo qualche minuto visualizzava una pagina bianca, però ho provato ad andare nel pannello amministrativo:..http://miosito/wordpress/wp-admin e sono riuscita ad entrare…
da lଠho eliminato il tema che dava problemi e riattivato quello vecchio.

P.S. Mi conviene passare alla nuova versione di WP? Utilizzo il link “àˆ disponibile WordPress 3.3.2 ! Aggiornalo ora.” e se dovesse dare nuovamente errore come torno indietro?

Devi aggiornare, ma non puoi saltare due major release, al massimo una. Passa quindi prima alla 2.9, poi alla 3.3.2.
Trovi l’archivio qui.
Prima sono necessari questi passi: i backup del database e dei file, la disattivazione di tutti i plugin e l’attivazione del tema di default. Devi anche assicurarti sulla compatibilità del tema e dei plugin che intendi usare con l’attuale versione di WP.
Dopodiché puoi anche fare l’aggiornamento automatico, anche se io fossi in te farei quello manuale.
Le istruzioni dettagliate per quello manuale le puoi trovare su questo forum, sul Wiki, e naturalmente sul sito ufficiale di WP.

Già che ci siamo domando … per cambiare la grafica, devo fare qualche procedura particolare? Oppure installo e attivo un tema semplicemente?
Sul sito ci sono parecchi dati . Soprattutto c’è installata la NextGEN Gallery con tante immagini fotografiche.

Se non sai molto di codice meglio se cerchi un tema già fatto con una grafica a te gradita e con le funzioni desiderate, o uno molto personalizzabile (customizable theme).

Alla fine ho scoperto che la versione che utilizzavo era “l’attempata” 2.5 quindi avrei dovuto fare l’aggiornamento manuale dalla 2.7 alla 2.9 alla 3.3.2 .
Ho fatto il bck e ho seguito tutte le istruzioni per il passaggio dalla 2.5 alla 2.7 ma niente…internal server error.
Ho cosଠpreso una decisione drastica… di eliminare wordpress e buttare giù tutto il sito che comunque doveva subire un cambiamento repentino, installando ex-novo la 3.3.2 …
Ho eliminato tutti i file wordpress + il vecchio db …
ho creato un nuovo db, ho fatto l’uload di tutti i file ma quando lancio miosito/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php … eccolo di nuovo lଅinternal server error…. ma perchè? (((

Installando il backup in locale sul tuo computer grazie, ad esempio, al programma standalone EasyPHP fai tutta la procedura di aggiornamento, passando per la 2.7, poi 2.9 e poi l’ultima. Concluso il lavoro: Backup del database locale e restore di quello online; oppure, meglio ancora, utilizzi in locale la funzione “esporta” sotto strumenti e poi importi nel WordPress che è sul web. Se procedi in questo secondo modo disattiva tutti i plugin e ritorna al tema di default per fare la procedura.

in realtà ho deciso di ripartire da ZERO, cancellando tutti i file e il database, ho fatto il backup ma non credo che lo userò perchè vorrei inserire tutti i dati ex-novo (cambiandone la maggio parte).
Quindi il problema ce l’ho installando da zero wordpress… può essere che sia rimasto qualcosa “in sospeso” sul server … e quindi non riesco a fare una nuova installazione…
mi faccio resettare tutto dall’hosting? non mi è mai capitato di non riuscire ad installare wordpress …
