Salve a tutti, ho un problema che ora vi espongo.
Premetto che non sono affatto esperto in WP
In breve non riesco ne a caricare media, ne a installare/aggiornare un plugin.
L’errore che ho quando cerco di installare un plugin é: Download non riuscito. La directory di destinazione per il file di streaming non esiste o non è scrivibile.
Se metto i permessi a 777 tutto funziona correttamente ma 777 non va mai messo.
Questo problema si é presentato dopo che ho cambiato dominio e server (stessa farm del precedente) al mio sito.
La versione di Wp che utilizzo é la 4.31, il mio sito é su un server dedicato con sistema operativo centos.
Ho sicuramente fatto qualche casino io perché prima del trasferimento funzionava tutto a dovere.
Cosa posso fare?

Non è un problema di wordpress ma di configurazione del server e non tutti i server richiedono gli stessi permessi per far girare wordpress quindi apri un ticket con il tuo hosting perchè solo loro sapranno come risolvere la cosa e come c’è scritto nel disclaimer del forum
NON FORNIAMO SUPPORTO PER PROBLEMI DI CONFIGURAZIONE DI SERVER SIA REMOTI CHE LOCALI

l’avevo letto il disclaimer ma ho anche scritto che prima funzionava tutto correttamente.
Se installo wp in un’altra cartella funziona tutto. Con permessi 644 per i file e 755 per le cartelle.
Non é un problema di configurazione del server altrimenti non chiedevo aiuto a voi.

Forse basta ripristinare i permessi dal loro pannello di controllo.

Quindi il problema può dipendere solo dai permessi?
Non sono esperto ma se era un problema di permessi non doveva comparire lo stesso errore nell’altra cartella?
I permessi sono gli stessi in entrambe le cartelle, dovrebbero funzionare entrambi o nessuno in teoria.
Scusa se insisto ma voglio capire

Non sono due installazioni identiche, una è ex novo e l’altra è una migrazione che solo tu sai come hai fatto, quindi è possibile che con un ripristino fatto sul server dal loro pannello, NON da ftp, funzioni.
Nonostante aver letto il disclaimer, non hai dato nessuna delle informazioni richieste e nemmeno come hai effettuato la migrazione quindi le mie possono essere solo supposizioni basate sul fatto che modificando i permessi in 777 funzioni. Se il tuo hosting non ha un pannello dove effettuare il ripristino apri un ticket e spiegagli in dettaglio cos’hai combinato.

Per completezza ho fatto questo:
copiato tutte le cartelle dal vecchio server e trasferite sul nuovo, convertito il DB con il pluin WP Migrate DB e collegato al nuovo sito.
Farò come hai detto, grazie per il supporto.

buonasera, rieccomi.
L’host mi ha risposto dicendo che i permessi corretti sono quelli che già ci sono adesso, cioé 775 cartelle e 644 file.
Qualche idea??

Non é un problema di configurazione del server…
E invece sà¬. àˆ un server configurato male quello che non permette di scrivere un file temporaneo, necessario per scaricare plugin o aggiornamenti.
Dovresti risolvere aggiungendo in fondo al config.php questa riga che dice a WP di scrivere il file temporaneo in quella o in un’altra directory scrivibile:
define('WP_TEMP_DIR', ABSPATH . 'wp-content/tmp_dir/');

Niente da fare, credo che non mi rimane altro che installare tutto da 0.
Peccato perché volevo capire quel’era il problema
