Salve a tutti,
vorrei capire come agisce google sulla gestione di un’immagine inserita in un articolo.
Immaginiamo di garicare nella library del nostro sito una JPG dal peso pari a 400kb con dimensioni 1000×1000.
Bene, Immaginiamo di creare un articolo nel cui corpo inseriamo tale immagine.
Ovviamente, visualizzando nel browser, l’immagine “straborderebbe” se visualizzata a questa grandezza.
Quindi agiamo sulle proprietà dell’immagine> avanzate ed impostiamo una grandezza tale da riempire in maniera consona il layout del nostro template…ipotizziamo quindi di ridimensionare @ 500×500.
Quindi la mia domanda è: quando col browser andrò a visualizzare quella pagina il download verrà rallentato dai famosi 400kb dell’immagine originale oppure wordpress sgamatamente si crea un immagine più piccola nella size e nel peso?

Credo che il peso vari in base alla dimensione, quindi in questo caso avendo dimezzato le dimensioni sarà dimezzato anche il peso. Ma aspetta suggerimenti di altri utenti perchè non sono sicuro al 100%

L’immagine non straborda se il layout è di 1000. Aldilà di questo, l’operazione di ridimensionamento c’è per completezza, ma non andrebbe usata.
Non è un problema di google o di browser, è che fai fare doppio lavoro al sistema, aumentando quindi il tempo e il consumo. L’ideale è mettere la foto (salvata per il web, che riduce il peso) max di 100 KB (o anche un po’ di più se hai solo quella nella pagina) delle dimensioni originali senza farla ridimensionare, e dichiarando l’altezza e la larghezza giusti, che al browser piace tanto questa cosa perché cosଠsa già cosa aprirà .
