Ciao a tutti, ho ottimizzato le tabelle del database come da procedura, poi ricaricando il blog non visualizzavo più il tema, ho provato a reinstallare il tema, ma niente; ho provato anche a cambiare il tema, peggio che mai, non avevo più un tema in pratica.
Cosi ho ricaricato il backup via ftp e adesso non visualizzo proprio più nulla.
Provato e riprovato mi son dato all’ultima carta, riparto da zero, scaricata lòa versione 3.0 caricata ma niente di niente….come posso fare?

Se hai modo prova a fare un ripristino dei permessi delle directory sul server.

Se “ottimizzo” – ottimizzo tra virgolette nel senso che l’ho sfasciato – il database e poi da lଠmi inizia un problema, perché metto mano a tutto il resto? Cioè mi arrovello sul tema e addirittura su tutto il dominio ripristinando da backup e, infine, aggiornando alla 3.0?
Avresti dovuto semmai ripristinare il db, senza toccare tutto il resto!
Se sostituisci olio e candele al motore della tua auto e poi non parte, che fai? Smonti il cambio e la trasmissione?

Si infatti hai ragione, evidentemente un po’ la poca esperienza, un po’ per essermi preso dalla foga di risistemare quanto prima ho commesso questi errori.
Dopo il ripristino del database, attraverso una copia di backup, adesso tutto è tornato visibile, ho ricaricato i plugin e è tutto come prima.
Per il futuro, dato che ho letto che ottimizzare le tabelle del DB è cosa buona ogni tanto (attraverso phpmyadmin, seleziono tutte le tabelle e clicco ottimizza) è bene che lo faccia o lascio perdere, o, piuttosto devo farlo con qualche accortezza particolare?

Facendo prima un backup ma quello va fatto periodicamente pure se non si ottimizza….

Ci sono hosting che, tra gli strumenti del pannello di controllo, mettono a disposizione del cliente un indicatore dal quale si può desumere quando è il momento di intervenire sul database.
Esistono un paio di ottimi plugin per wordpress che fanno esattamente la stessa cosa e, inoltre, servono a cancellare le bozze delle pagine e dei post; queste si che, con il passare del tempo, fan diventare il db pesante. Di questi due plugin ne abbiamo parlato già una decina di volte negli ultimi 3 mesi, basta cercare..
Io seguo diverse installazioni e non mi è ancora successo di dover ottimizzare i database fino a che non si raggiungono gli oltre 500 post. Questi siti hanno in genere sui 40 plugins e centinaia di album fotografici con NextGenGallery ricchi di testo.. ecc.
Il tuo blog a quanti posts stava per dover intervenire con l’ottimizzazione?
