Ciao,
Sto utilizzando il tema unsleepable . 1.7 ed ho provato a tradurlo in italiano con poedit, ho letto i wiki su questo sito, purtroppo commetto qualche errore nell’inserimento del percorso con i file del tema.
Il wiki dice:
……basterà indicare come directory che indica la directory corrente. ????? e qui non capisco che significa?
ed ancora
..Inserire il percorso alla directory che contiene il/i file del tema/pluing, nel nostro caso basterà indicare . come directory che indica la directory corrente….???
Io ho dato come percorso la cartella del mio tema ad esempio c:unsleepable , quando faccio per salvare il .po dice che non sono stati trovati strighe file nella directory indicata.
Potete aiutarmi?

sul wiki è anche specificato che devi inserire le stringhe da cercare.
nel caso specifico devi inserire
__
e_e
in keywords. -

hai controllato che le stringhe nel tema ci siano?
perchè se ti dice che non ne ha trovate, potrebbe essere perchè il tema non le ha, e quindi non si può tradurre…
Se è cosà¬, puoi inserirle tu, oppure modificare a mano tutto il tema e tradurlo. Un lavoro lunghetto, ma se mancano

Non devi dare come percorso la cartella del tema, il file di localizzazione .po si trovera nelal cartella de tema, devi dare come directory quelli indicato nel wiki cioè un punto ( . ) nulla di più nulla di meno.

SteveAgl grandissimo io vedevo il punto, non capivo se fosse un errore o cosa!
Non si potrebbe porre in evidenza nel wiki? ho notato mentre cercavo di risovere il problema che diverse persone si confondono con questa cosa

Hai ragione, è un lavoro lunghetto, ma se il tema “merita”, lo si rende utile anche agli altri e si facilita il lavoro in seguito, sarebbe praticamente la parte localizzazione spiegata nel wiki o sbaglio?

Esatto, è proprio quella parte.
Prima di usare poEdit, traducevo tutto a mano direttamente in italiano…
In effetti il punto come path nella guida è abbastanza invisibile e può essere confuso…

A me pare che per localizzare temi e plugin non si debbano per forza usare
_e
e_()
, ma si possono creare delle specie di alias.Io l’ho fatto una volta con un plugin dove definivo delle mie funzioni di localizzazione che venivano agganciate a quelle di sistema di WP: prova a scaricarlo e vedi un po’ come ho fatto (sinceramente io non me lo ricordo più), nel pacchetto dovrebbero esserci anche i file di localizzazione.
Un’altra cosa: qui si parla di un file
.po
, a me risulta che i file di localizzazione veri e propri siano i.mo
. (che appunto vengono generati con Poedit)I
.po
servono solo per tradurre il testo, ma non è necessario metterli online. -

Gli alias usati ad eesempio nel tema Giraffe spesso vengono usati per evitare di scrivere per ogni stringa da tradurre la funzione completa del text-domain, quindi si definiscono delle nuove funzioni che poi non fanno altro che richiamare le funzioni standard _e() e __ () e relativo textdomain. In Wp tali funzioni sono obbligatorie affinché il sistema di gettext funzioni, lo scopo delle funzioni di alias è solo di semplificare la scrittura del codice allo sviluppatore.
Per contro questo sistema è soggetto alla fantasia del singolo sviluppatore quindi le funzioni alias possono avere nomi diversi per ciascun tema o plugin, mentre le funzioni standard sono chiare ed univoche e quindi risulta meglio utilizzarle per rendere il tutto uniforme ed immediatamente riconoscibile per chiunque acceda al codice. se poi si usano editor con macro etc per scrivere il codice la “noia” di dover scrivere qualche carattere extra è facilmente superabile
Vero è che per il funzionamento della localizzazione l’unico file necessario è il .mo il .po serve solo per l’ugo di poedit, allegare il file .po comunque permette ad altri di apportare eventuali correzioni o nel caso di nuove versioni di aggiornarne la traduzione

modificare a mano tutto il tema e tradurlo
che è (sigh) quello che ho fatto io fino ad adesso per plugin e temi, in virtù anche del fatto che poEdit non mi piace degustibus, sono all’antica, mi piace ravanare nel codice
PS. Se a qualcuno interessa, ho tradotto integralmente in Italiano I-Feel-Dirty-10 e Andreas09 più un paio di plugin (Calendar, Democracy e altro che non ricordo adesso).
Appena mi ambiento e capisco come funziona il forum (è il mio PRIMO messaggio!) magari trovo il modo di postarli x chi interessa
