ciao a tutti.
ho letto un sacco di guide per installare wordpress su aruba windows ma niente.
Quello che vorrei capire è se lavorandoci e perdendoci del tempo arriverò a poter usare wordpress normalmente o se su server windows wordpress gira per forza male indipendentemente dalle accortezze.
Io sto diventando pazzo.. oltretutto sto sito è per un mio amico e non posso dirgli di sborsare altri soldi per prendere uno spazio linux.
Dove trovo una guida esauriente per installarlo su aruba windows? quella che c’è in wiki non mi risolve nulla

aruba non supporta wordpress su windows, l’unica soluzin è passare a linux dove funziona perfettamente.

ripaghi l’hosting da capo, quindi nella migliore delle ipotesi 30 euro +iva all’anno senza db… (fragatura)

ma non credo dai, domani chiedo se mi fanno il trasferimento.. e comunque non capisco.. è pieno di articoli su come risolvere il problema su hosting windows. Sono tutti falsi?

io ho dovuto fare un cambio per conto di un amico, e gli hanno chiesto di ripagare l’hosting da capo, poi se ora han cambiato la politica, questo non lo so’, ma conoscendo un po’ aruba non credo… comunque domandare non costa nulla…

con tutti gli articoli che hai letto hai risolto i problemi?
tanto per farti un esempio le librerie gd non le avrai mai e quindi tutti i plugin per le immagini non funzioneranno.
Non puoi utilizzare htaccess
non puoi gestire i permessi sulle cartelle.
Noi lo diciamo e scriviamo sempre di usare hosting linux poi ovviamente scegliete voi, aruba non supporta wp su server windows e se vuoi puoi perderci anche settimane e farlo dfunzionare più o meno, la scelta ovviamente è tua.
P.S: personalmente non spendo neanche un secondo a cercare di far funzionare wordpress su hosting aruba windows.

beh il problema non sarebbe manco windows ma la scelta di adottare IIS anzicche’ il mitico Apache… se solo cambiasse scelta renderebbe l’hosting windows ALMENO funzionale

eh lo so’ lo fanno apposta per asp, ma asp rispetto a php e’ cacca cosi’ come IIS rispetto ad apache!
ma gli utenti meno esperti o distratti prendono hosting win pensando ah vabbe’ win lo conosco, e poi si trovano a dover buttar altri soldi inutilmente per una scelta che non rispecchia quello che avrebbero voluto avere…

Su Aruba hosting Windows è possibile installare WordPress ma credo che ci siano dei problemi con alcuni plugin (ad esempio Nextgen Gallery), che non si possono installare. Tra l’altro su hosting Windows non sono disponibili le librerie GD.

Ribadisco per l’ennesima volta che non facciamo in ogni caso assistenza su wordpress installato su aruba windows.
Installare nella public con tutti i permessi su tutti i file è comunque una pratica da sconsigliare nonostante sia l’unica che funzioni e che comunque è il sistema di installazione che consigliamo da anni per installare wordpress su aruba windows (nel wiki la guida c’è da anni).
Usare wordpress su aruba windows significa rinunciare a molte funzionalità importanti come per esempio le librerie gd che non sono installate e altri problemi vari.
Modificare i file del core di wordpress lo sconsigliamo sempre anche perchè ad ogni aggiornamento come minimo è necessario modificarli nuovamente.
In fase di rinnovo del dominio suggeriamo di passare a linux visto che il passaggio e gratuito e non comporta alcun problema perchè basta copiare i file.

Io NON ho installato tutto il core di WP nella dir public (lungi da me farlo), ho installato nella public SOLO la cartella wp-content
Tutte le altre cartelle sono nella dir /wordpress che si trova sotto la root
Non mi sono inventato nulla, ho solo seguito le linee quida wp su come installare la dir wp-content in una dir diversa dalle altre.
Certo mi rendo conto che sotto lnx sarebbe tutto più semplice, a volte però la migrazione non è proprio possibile!
E comunque sono passato dalla 2.7.0 alla 2.7.1 senza dover modificare nulla e i plug funzionano (quasi) tutti….ce ne sono alcuni che non vanno ma solo ed esclusivamente perhè sono stati scritti male dai programmatori.
Ad ese,pio NextGenGallery è proprio un esempio di come si siano usate variabili globali errate….

per quale motivo non è possibile passare da windows a linux?
NextGen comunque non funzionerebbe visto che usa le GD.

perchè ho alcune funzionalità in asp e non posso in alcun modo “switchare”….purtroppo!!! Linux sarebbe meglio, lo so benissimo…però alla fine sono riuscito ad avere un buon compromesso…
