Salve a tutti,
sono nuovissimo di WordPress e mi scuso in anticipo per qualunque errore possa commettere….
ho aggiunto giorni fa il plugin di ajax sul mio blog:
tutto bene tranne il fatto che il campo testo login si vede in modo strano su internet explorer 8. Vedo il campo user piu largo!!!! invece se visualizzo il blog in firefox lo vedo bene. Da cosa può essere causata questa cosa?
per favore, aiutatemi!!!
– ho scaricato wordpress 2.9.2
– sistema operativo: windows xp sp 2
– broser: internet explorer 8
ps: devo ammettere che per riuscire ad utilizzare il plugin ho fatto vari tentativi, e non vorrei che avessi erroneamente commesso qualche errore…

Dal fatto che se non applichi gli stili giusti agli elementi di un form (o gliene applichi solo alcuni, tralasciandone altri), può capitare che ogni browser li interpreti un po’ come gli gira al momento. Prova ad esempio a togliere il “size” dagli input e a dichiarare la larghezza con i css, cosଠcome hai fatto per l’altezza. Sempre che il plugin ti consenta di intervenire in questo modo. Altrimenti prova ad aggiungere gli stili manualmente a tutti gli input della sidebar e vedi che succede.

Deeproad, grazie moltissimo ci proverò anche se, onestamente le mie competenze non mi supportano un granchè. Se ti capitasse di beccare un tutorial per un caso del genere, ti pregherei e vi pregherei di postare qualcosa.

No, guarda, ai tempi ho cercato ovunque un tutorial sui css legati ai form. Ne trovi, ma non risolvono mai un cazzo. L’unica è apprendere e tentare, caso per caso. Te lo dico perché una soluzione precisa e definitiva non esiste. Ottenere un form identico per tutti i browsers è fattibile, ma richiede un po’ di cocciutaggine. E di conoscenza dei css.

Ti credo e capisco in pieno. Il fatto è che le mie conoscenze in Css non sono assolutamente sufficienti….
di conseguenza cercando sempre di trovare una soluzione (ed imparare allo stesso tempo ti allego una jpg

Qui ci si può divertire osservando come il “nostro lavoro” è visibile con quasi tutti i browser e sistemi operativi.
Risultato? Quasi sempre c’è da mettersi le mani nei capelli!
Io nel mio hobby con wp sviluppo e valuto con firefox e Opera; Ie8 e suoi fratelli proprio non li tengo in considerazione; tanto è scontato che qualcosa si vedrà storto.
Ultimamamente anche opera, a seguire dalla 9.51, ha gravi problemi; con siti che utilizzano plugin di cache come, ad esempio W3 total, rende una cozzaglia di codici invece che la pagina. E lo fa casualmente e non sistematicamente, quindi è ancora più difficile capire quale sia il motivo.

Provando a risolvere il problema ho installato nella mia sidebar Sidebar Login
e il problema resta!!!!! qualunque form di iscrizione inserisco il text field dell’user è più grande di qeullo della passoword (questo difetto lo riscontro solo su INTERNET EXPLORER)
per cortesia visto che credo proprio sia una cosa di stile di CSS (che non ho saputo individuare) aiutatemi ad individuare dove è il problema!!!!

zhenya grazie per il commento, io credo a questo punto, mi fermerò a fare questi miliardi di tentativi, io non sono un programmatore ne un blogger, sono un grafico, e credimi, un campo testo di misura diversa da quello sottostante è proprio un cazzotto visivo!!! al quale non ci si può abituare!
per quanto riguarda i browser, purtroppo internet ie è usatissimo!!!!!!!!
mi vedo costretto, per ora a RINUNCIARE AL LOGIN ed onestamente sono molto deluso!

Ricordo una volta di aver lavorato un’intera mattinata per far si che il form di ricerca del mio blog fosse visualizzato correttamente su IE, Firefox e Chrome (Opera al momento non ce l’ho, ma in più occasioni ho notato che a livello di form si comporta come Chrome, quindi non dovrebbero esserci problemi). Nel dettaglio ricordo che non riuscivo ad allineare verticalmente l’input e il submit affiancati. Quando sistemavo su IE e Chrome, si sballava in Firefox. Quando sistemavo in Firefox, sballava su IE. Alla fine, dopo numerosi tentativi a casaccio e tanta frustrazione che andava accumulandosi, ho scoperto che bastava aggiungere all’input un
vertical-align: bottom;
Che poi non è sempre valido, perché una volta, guardando il css di un tema che non aveva di questi problemi, ho notato che anche lui aveva usato un "vertical-align", ma con "middle" al posto di "bottom". Sul mio invece il "middle" fa sballare il form in tutti i browsers. Per quella che è la mia esperienza, ti posso dire che sistemare la compatibilità di un form è la parte più rognosa della cura grafica del tuo sito. Ci fosse una soluzione sempre valida te la posterei volentieri, ma cosଠnon è.
Il mio consiglio è di partire da un form completamente privo di qualsiasi stile e vedere come viene visualizzato in tutti i browsers (ricordati di svuotare la cache dopo ogni modifica, per sicurezza). A quel punto comincia ad apportare le varie modifiche alle caselle di testo, iniziando a modificarne la larghezza (tralascia l'altezza, la dimensione e lo stile del font, bordi e tutto il resto). Solo la larghezza (possibilmente con i css, provando prima a dichiararla in percentuale, poi, ce ne fosse bisogno, stabilendola in pixels). Sistemata questa, dovresti aver risolto tutti i problemi di compatibilità e potrai quindi procedere con l'applicazione degli stili, controllando il risultato dopo ogni modifica.
