Ciao
Sto provando ad installare WP in locale nel Mac di un mio amico (non sono espertissimo del mondo Mac, però… con WP solitamente me la cavo benino)
Ho seguito questa guida. MAMP sembra funzionare, abbiamo creato il DB, modificato wp-config ecc…
Quando provo a collegarmi a http://localhost:8888/BLOGDIPROVA/wp-install.php otteniamo in risposta una schermata bianca con in alto qualche carattere tipo

Se andiamo invece a prendere un file HTML tipo il readme.html tutto ok? Da cosa potrebbe dipendere? un problema con il PHP? Quali verifiche posso fare?

Strano, uso MAMP e non mi è mai capitato. Prova a rifare tutto da capo e a creare il file wp-config.php via interfaccia web invece che configurarlo manualmente. Poi lanci l’indirizzo http://localhost:8888/blogdiprova e segui passo passo le istruzioni. Prova un pò…
I dati da inserire via interfaccia web sono
Nome del Database: quello da te scelto
Username del database: root
Password del database: root
Host del database: localhost
Il prefisso tabella dovrebbe essere già presente.
Risolto.
Ho inserito nel wp-config la porta per l’host del database.
In pratica è diventato
Host del database: localhost:88888
