Se avessi trovato la mia risposta non avrei scritto quello che hai letto. Non saprei proprio cosa cercare.

so che puoi intervenire su di un tot di parole con excerpt reload o qualcosa del genere…, ma sulle righe… anche perchè possono variere dal tema in uso…
la maniera più semplice è la funzione excerpt ma probabilmente l’avrai esclusa visto che appositamente di righe.

Anche io avevo bisogno di fare una cosa del genere e alla fine ho risolto cosà¬:
ho inserito il post in un div di dimensione fissa con overflow:hidden. in questo modo nascondo tutta la parte del post che sconfina dopo una certa altezza.
il “more” l’ho messo in un div che sta sotto quello del post, cosଠviene automaticamente attaccato in fondo. Non è come avere un more automatico ma in pratica svolge la stessa funzione

Ora il problema sta nel fatto che non saprei come applicarla.
Se avessi un mucchietto di righe di script da aggiungere in un determinato file magari avrei potuto lanciarmi nella modifica. Chiedo troppo di individuare la modifica e scriverla qui?

Anche la tua soluzione a parole e non a righe va benissimo, però siamo da capo, non saprei come applicarla.
Mi sembra strano di essere l’unico ad avere questo problema, mi capitano utenti che inserisco post lunghissimi ed io a mano devo inserire un <more>.
