Salve raga!
Non ho mai usato la funzione dei campi personalizzati (a dire il vero non so bene neanche a che servano).
Ultimamente però su alcuni post ho notato (quando vado ad esempio a modificare una lettera) questi:
e non riesco a capire cosa sono, chi li ha messi e perchè!
Ho provato a cancellarli e vedo che non cambia niente e il post rimane identico…
Potete chiarirmi cosa sono tutti quei campi?

sono i campi che utilizza uno dei plugin che hai installato, immagino quello per modificare i commenti.
Cancellando tutto non potranno più modificare i commenti

Si ho un plugin che permette all’utente di modificare il proprio commento entro un periodo limitato (WP AJAX Edit Comments).
Comunque li ho eliminati tutti e non vedo differenza…
Mo faccio qualche test

Ok ho postato come ospite un commento, avevo ancora 4minuti per modificarlo, vado in gestione e vedo che c’è il campo personalizzato, elimino la voce e da utente non posso più editare il commento (come se i 4minuti fossero già scaduti).
Insomma di tanto in tanto sembra sia possibile eliminarli senza problemi (in quanto appunto servono solo per il tempo concesso alla modifica)

sà¬, ma non cancellate le robe dal backend e dal database senza sapere quello che state facendo, che poi il blog non funziona più.
Come l’altro utente che ieri ha cancellato i record dalla tabella wp_users giusto per provare.

Come l’altro utente che ieri ha cancellato i record dalla tabella wp_users giusto per provare.
Ovviamente (hai fatto bene comunque a specificarlo) prima di fare ciò mi sono tirato un backup dell’intero database di wordpress
Insomma ho provato per “capire” e adesso so che anche se si rimuovono non succede niente di “male”

ok, hai fatto bene a fare il backup.
Pero’ i campi personalizzati non sono cose inutili, ma sono informazioni aggiuntive che vengono associate ad un post e spesso sono usati da eventuali plugin installati, per cui se li rimuovi rischi che quei plugin non funzionino più correttamente.
