beh come tutti o quasi sapranno, IE ha un modo tutto suo di renderizzare le pagine web, questo fa si che il codice, molto probabilmente in questo caso il css, venga “letto” ed interpretato in modo differente tra i due browser.
quello che a mio avviso puoi fare e’ controllare quali classi “funzionano” su entrambi i browser, scrivere il css in modo standard ottimizzarlo per FF e poi implementare le parti che facciano funzionare tutto bene anche con IE.
