Buongiorno a tutti, vi chiedo aiuto per un problema col sito deagetanis.org, che da ieri pomeriggio risulta notevolmente rallentato. Pingdom load time sui 30 secondi. Anche con tutti i plugin disattivati. Il tema è Betheme e non credo sia standard però non penso che il problema sia dovuto al tema perchè lo riscontro anche nella bacheca (e gestione) di WP. L’host è vhosting, non mi hanno saputo dare indicazioni, gli ho mandato un tracert e dicono che per loro è tutto ok e il problema può dipendere da richiami esterni, credo di averne solo verso google (maps e analytics). Ho fatto dei tentativi leggendo altri problemi simili ma senza risultati. Ho fatto io il sito ma non sono un esperto. Mi sono accorto del problema ieri, non ho fatto alcun cambiamento recente eccetto la pubblicazione di un post diversi giorni prima. Grazie.

posto che deagetanis.org non risulta non risulta raggiungibile forse è degaetanis.org?? Nel caso pure lui è lentissimo proprio nella prima risposta del server, ma vedo che impiega più di un minuto a fare il redirect da http a https, 30 secondi per iniziare a caricare il sito, se nulla è cambiato direi che ci sono seri problemi di performance del server, checchè ne dica il fornitore, tempi biblici per ogni file, una pagina semplice carica 98 files che mi paiono tantini, caricherà altro utile in altre pagine tipo gli script dei form,. Pure con una ottimizzazione ben fatta un plugin di cache (che direi necessario a meno che l’hosting non lo faccia già lui ma viste le performance ne dubito) non credo vi saranno miglioramenti,. Magari sullo stesso server ci sono altri siti che al momento affossano il server (l’hosting non lo dirà mai) o altri motivi difficili se non impossibili da diagnosticare guardando la pagina. UN hosting più performante, magari che non costi 20 euro l’anno direi che è il primo passo.

Grazie per la risposta, in effetti il sito è degaetanis.org. L’hosting costa 65 euro ed è su ssd, come plugin di cache usa litespeed cache. Sono con loro da qualche mese e fino a ieri andava abbastanza bene, 2/3 secondi. Inoltre ho un altro sito sempre con loro che continua ad andare bene. Ho provato altri siti che usano il mio stesso ip e non hanno risposte cosଠlente. Mi puoi spiegare meglio il discorso dei 98 file per pagina?

Hai ben 33 file javascript esterni (di cui 12 solo per la mappa di Google), sono molti, troppi, e questa è sicuramente una causa del rallentamento, se non la causa principale. Questo problema, come altri che si rilevano con i tool di Pingdom e GTMetrix, possono esser notevolmente migliorati con un plugin come W3 Total Cache, che dà molte soddisfazioni ma, ti avverto, ci vuole tempo e pazienza per conoscerlo e configurarlo.
Inoltre bisogna vedere tra i plugin che usi quali consumano più risorse. Ad esempio, SEO di Yoast può esser dannoso in questo senso (specie nel backend) se si attivano le integrazioni che offre, in particolar modo Ryte, quindi controlla intanto quella e se è “on” disattivala subito.
Anche il plugin di cache può rallentare se hai attivato un object cache, che è inutile anzi dannosa perché va in conflitto con quella di WP, idem la cache del database, ma non conosco Litespeed Cache e non so che genere di cache fornisce né come lavora.

Grazie mille, comincio a studiarmi W3, il Ryte è off. Ci sono due cose che non mi tornano, la prima è che il rallentamento c’è da qualche giorno senza che io abbia fatto nessuna modifica e la seconda che è notevolmente rallentato anche il caricamento della bacheca e della gestione di WP, è possibile che le criticità indicate abbiano effetto anche sulla bacheca?

Faccio fatica anche a modificare le pagine, quando cerco di salvare la modifica mi compare:
Connessione persa. il salvataggio è stato disabilitato sino a quando ti riconnetterai. Stiamo effettuando un backup di questo articolo sul tuo browser, giusto per sicurezza.

Di sicuro c’è un tempo di risposta del server molto lungo e dovresti interpellare di nuovo il tuo provider, vedere il log degli errori e chiedere come mai il TTFB (Time to first byte) è cosଠalto (dovrebbe essere almeno sotto i 500ms-valore massimo). Probabilmente ti diranno di nuovo che ci sono molte risorse che bloccano (il che è comunque vero) l’intero caricamento del sito. Dovresti anche sapere quale versione di PHP gira sul server, le precedenti alla 7.0 ormai sono lente e obsolete. Limite di memoria PHP? Se hai un limite basso, basta aver installato o aggiornato un plugin “esoso” per sballare tutto, o configurazioni errate di uno o più plugin.
Dal test sopra risultano anche redirect che forse non ci dovrebbero essere e un tempo di risposta DNS elevato. Alcuni test non si riescono neppure a fare (https://varvy.com/tools/redirects/ e https://varvy.com/tools/js/ ) perché il caricamento non finisce mai.
Sicuro che senza nessun plugin attivato e con il tema di default (uno della serie Twenty di WP) sia la stessa cosa? Quando si fanno test si disattiva anche il tema, il tuo poi è un tema a pagamento (che noi non possiamo supportare) che si pubblicizza come Multi-purpose il che di certo non è di buon auspicio per la velocità – perché ad esempio hai scelto un tema creato per WooCommerce dato che mi sembra tu non ne abbia bisogno? Tutto ciò consuma risorse.
Provato a fare vari test in quella situazione (cioè tutto disattivato tranne il tema di default di WP)? Hai fatto di recente il passaggio a https? Hai inserito direttive particolari nell’.htaccess? Sicuro di aver configurato bene il plugin di cache? Controlla anche tutte le altre configurazioni dei plugin ed elimina quelle non necessarie. Il problema che citi con il salvataggio articoli è o dato dal server, anche per problemi temporanei, o da appunto file che non si riescono a caricare.
E tutte quelle mappe… perché metterne una anche in home page che rallenta tutto?
Puoi anche monitorare il server con questo plugin
Devi indagare su tutti i fronti (anche il database potrebbe aver bisogno di una pulizia), non si può dire da qua se c’è solo una causa principale.
Se prima andava bene e ora d’improvviso no – una volta testato per bene disattivando TUTTO, vedendo come va e poi riattivando una cosa per volta per capire dove e se s’inceppa – devi indagare meglio sul server ed eventualmente farti passare su uno più performante spendendo un po’ di più.

Grazie ancora Titti. La mappa dalla home l’ho già tolta, era proprio la modifica che cercavo di fare. Farò tutte le prove suggerite, mi tocca aspettare il fine settimana perchè oggi e domani non ho il tempo. Ho provato senza alcun plugin ma non con un tema base perchè il tema usa un visual composer e con un altro tema si incasinerà tutto, comunque provo anche questo.

Non usare un visual composer, tra le cose migliori per rallentare un sito. Certo dipende sempre anche dalla qualità del codice e dal modo in cui i contenuti sono strutturati, ma non hai (dal mio punto di vista) assolutamente bisogno di usare un tema cosଠné di usare un visual composer, che magari crea shortcode su shortcode.
Semplificare, semplificare, non complicare!
Il tuo poi dovrebbe essere un sito solo di testo e qualche immagine, perché usare plugin inutili, e per plugin intendo ovviamente anche appunto quelli inglobati in un tema. Tutta roba che rallenta e disturba. Il tema dovrebbe esser la cosa più semplice che c’è, per le integrazioni mirate ci sono i singoli plugin, o codice costruito ad hoc.
E hai una mappa anche nella sidebar, ce n’è bisogno? Una sola mappa, nel DOVE SIAMO, è più che sufficiente. Hai pagine lunghe e complesse.
Poi avrai anche un server lento o altro, ma le tue pagine sono inutilmente sovra-strutturate.
A volte rimpiango i buoni vecchi siti in HTML.

Cercherò di semplificare il tutto. Che il visual composer non va bene me ne sono accorto, purtroppo dopo aver già fatto diverse pagine, ho smesso di usarlo ma quelle pagine le devo rifare da zero e ci vuole un pò di tempo.

Se una cosa intoccata oggi va bene e domani no i casi sono solo tre a) Improvvisamente hai il sito iperpopolare (ma lo vedresti da analitycs) te lo hanno hackerato (ma anche li si capisce in fretta c) L’host ha dei problemi suoi o di siti ospitati sul tuo stesso server etc,. 99% delle volte è C e la prima risposta dell’host è “il sistema funziona perfettamente non abbiamo notato nulla di strano, sarà il tuo sito, con wordpress poi si sa”. Poi dopo un po’ si scopre che è colpa loro.
Inoltre ad ovviamente lamentarsi e chiedere spiegazioni il prossimo passo è “punirli” cambiando fornitore ed informandoli della cosa spiegando proprio il perchè. Nel caso con le dovute cautele per non incorrere in diffamazione anche un po’ di info sui social. Ovviamente rifiutare ogni proposta di sconti o pacchetti extra a prezzi ridotti etc etc. Sono a) incompententi b) in malafede, solitamente entrambe le cose, perchè dar loro soldi?
