Ogni volta che scrivo un nuovo post ho l’errore di exaust memory in sitemap.php.
Ho già scritto ad aruba che purtroppo mi ha confermato che è un problema non risolvibile lato servere perchè il limite in php.ini è settato a 12 M e non lo modificano in quanto hosting condiviso (credo facciano anche bene).
Esiste qualche sitema per aggirare questo problema ?

Purtroppo no, io su un mio sito con più di 2000 post ho dovuto disabilitarla la Sitemap (l’hosting non è Aruba, ma cmq non mi faceva modificare il limite di memoria).
C’era un trucco che veniva consigliato, di impostare il limite automaticamente
function sm_buildSitemap() {
global $wpdb, $sm_pages;
ini_set("memory_limit","64M"); // aggiungendo questa riga
ma non funziona su tutti gli hosting.
Non ho visto però se c’è una nuova versione del plugin che magari risolve il problema.

quel trucchetto l’ho provato ma su aruba non va.
Ho già guardato per il plugin ma , per ora nessuna news

Tanto per aggiornarvi un pò sui misteri del web e di aruba
Il problema non si presenta più
Wp 2.1.2
O aruba ha aumentato il limite o i il nuovo codice di wp ha risolto da solo il problema

Ed io che voglio, ancora per un po’ rimanere alla 2.0.9 mi attacco quindi….
Probabile che una funzione chiamata dal plugin legata al core di WP sia stata di molto snellita.
Va a sapere quale…
Escludo che Aruba si sia mosso in questo senso al 99%
Mmmmmm mi devo dare una mossa a migrare verso la nuova versione…la cosa mi spaventa per quanto riguarda PodPress che, avendo ancora una versione intorno alla 2 mi crea un sacco di problemi (già verificati): non ultimo la pedita di ogni legame tra post e audio (avendo 47 puntate del podcast mi incazzerei abbastanza).
Consigli non ne chiedo visto che sono problemi personali e particolari ma se volete….

L’unica cosa che mi sento di consigliarti, viste le dimensioni del tuo blog è quello di fare un installazione di prova copiando il db e testare tutto prima di passare alla 2.1

Hai ragione ma ricreare la stessa situazione* in locale non mi risulta semplicissimo.
Magari nel wiki cerco info e poi provo a vedere.
*i mitici server Linux di Aruba.

quando è uscita la beta di wp 2.1 ho creato una sottodir nel mio blog e ho instasllato in uyn altro dei 5 db di aruba il nuovo blog e ho fatto i test online.
se hai ancora un db libero puoi fare allo stesso modo.

Mmm…nello stesso dominio non riesco perchè su 100MB di DB ne occupo 55 ma potrei fare come mi dici su un dominio diverso ma sempre Linux Aruba.
Dai faccio cosଠe in caso di problemi li posto.

il problema l’ho risolto inserendo all’inizio di sitemap generator questo codice §:
ini_set("memory_limit", "32M");

wolly, esattamente in quale file va messo? io ho lo stesso problema su un blog su tophost con limite di memoria 32 MB
