Salve.
Ho installato il plugin “w3 total cache” nel network wordpress che uso per gestire il sito, ma subito dopo ha smesso di funzionare. Non posso apportare nessuna modifica.
Mi porta un internal Server Error ( provando ad accedere al sito vi renderete conto voi stessi.
Non so proprio cosa fare per sbloccare la situazione. Come posso intervenire per rendere il sito nuovamente funzionante?

Disabilitare il plugin via FTP rinominandolo. Una volta rientrato in bacheca, cancellare il plugin come da istruzioni.
Non credo che W3TC supporti il Multisite, tu l’hai installato perché hai letto che lo supporta?

Ho scoperto dopo (ahimè) che non lo supporta. Ho eliminato il plugin dal pannello di controllo (come avevo fatto con altri), ma non cambia nulla.
Mi è stato suggerito di vedere il file htaccess ma francamente non saprei come modificarlo. Come posso accedere wordpress? Avevo fatto un backup con il plugin Backupwordpress, ma se non mi fa accedere alla bacheca wordpress non posso reinstallare il sito. Sono un po’ nei casini

Non devi reinstallare il sito.
Come detto, segui le istruzioni per disinstallare manualmente il plugin, ce ne sono parecchie in rete.
Ad esempio queste, tu partendo dal terzo punto visto che hai già rimosso la sua cartella (nonostante ti avessi detto di disattivarla soltanto al momento).
In wp-content cancella anche la cartella cache.
La parte aggiunta dal plugin in .htaccess è piuttosto evidente, se però non sai allora cancella il file e carica via FTP un .htaccess precedente prendendolo dal backup dei file. Altrimenti fai manualmente quello standard di WP.
Se poi vorrai reinstallare W3TC, dovrai farlo per ogni sito del multisito.
Edit PS: per gestire un network occorre una conoscenza un po’ superiore rispetto a quella richiesta per il sito singolo. Installare un plugin senza prima accertarsi che sia totalmente compatibile è una leggerezza, e non saper come risolvere un errore di questo tipo o ripristinare un .htaccess denota che non sei in grado al momento.

Grazie Titti. Si non sono un esperto. Il plugin l’avevo eliminato prima di postare sul forum, troppo tardi per disattivarlo e basta.
Io avevo installato wordpress direttamente dal pannello di controllo del mio host e non sapevo che fosse stato installato un multisito (era la prima volta). Vorrà dire che creerò un nuovo sito wordpress che non sia parte del multisito. Cosଠspero di avere meno problemi quando faccio gli aggiornamenti o installo nuovi plugin.
Ora mi preme rendere visibile il mio sito. Mi permetto di postare il codice del file .htaccess e per non fare danni chiedo il tuo aiuto per capire la parte da cancellare.Ti ringrazio.

è la parte aggiunta dal plugin, cancellala.
Ti avevo già messo il riferimento sopra su com’è l’.htaccess standard anche per il multisito, non hai aperto il link. Sarebbe bello e utile se si leggessero le risposte, si spreca meno tempo da ambo le parti.
Aldilà di avere meno problemi, un multisito si installa se se ne ha bisogno, e mi pare incredibile che tu lo abbia installato senza saperlo o volerlo.

lo so che può sembrare incredibile ma tant’è! Alla fine sono riuscito a risolvere il problema dopo aver cancellato quella parte di codice che mi hai suggerito. Mi hai salvato.
