Salve, da qualche giorno riscontro qualche fastidioso problema. Provando a caricare il mio sito spesso, ma non sempre, ottengo un’interminabile tempo di attesa per poi arrivare a volte ad un errore del server (almeno cosଠdice il browser).
A volte invece tutto funziona correttamente, magari su un browser, ma non su un’altro. A volte un sito parallelo creato sempre con wordpress e collocato in una subdirectory, ma con un’altra installazione, funziona correttamente, mentre il sito principale è bloccato, ma altre volte sono bloccati entrambi.
E quando tutto si sblocca, tutto riprende normalmente, ma per poco tempo, a volte solo per il tempo di provare a caricare qualche pagina e poi, di nuovo, interviene la rotella di “attesa”.
Mentre questo accade per i 2 siti mossi da wordpress, provando a caricare una la piattaforma e-learning basata su Moodle collocata sullo stesso server, funziona senza problemi.
Da ignorante penso che se ci fosse qualche problema sul software (problemi di privilegi su cartelle o files danneggiati), il sito non dovrebbe andare “mai”; se il problema fosse nel server che ospita il nostro spazio web, dovrebbero essere in difficoltà tutti i nostri siti, e-learning incluso.
Per correttezza di informazione, qualche tempo fa il sito è stato “bucato” mostrando i sintomi del “pharma hack”. Dopo averlo “ripulito” (o almeno, cosଠcredo di aver fatto) ho installato Ithemes security e pure Wordfence. Potrebbero essere questi 2 “body guard” (che però hanno funzionato senza problemi da alcune settimane) a crearmi problemi, magari litigando tra loro?
In realtà ho notato una cosa che mi ha insospettito: nel database c’è un po’ di confusione: tabelle sia myisam che innodb, codifica utf8_general, ma anche latin_swedish. L’installazione base di WP è stata fatta con tabelle myisam, ma evidentemente gli ultimi plugin di sicurezza installati hanno creato tabelle innodb.
Potrebbe essere questo il motivo del comportamento un po’ lunatico?

La prima cosa è aprire un ticket con il tuo provider, perché è un errore del server. Se sei su un server condiviso, altri siti potrebbero esserne la causa.
La lettura del log degli errori dovrebbe aiutarti a risalire alla causa.
Se hai o hai avuto problemi di sicurezza fai un controllo con https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/, e poi una scansione in locale con un buon anti-virus. A mio avviso non è necessario nessun plugin in tal senso, bastano queste avvertenze.
Per quanto riguarda il database puoi sempre eseguire una riparazione e successiva ottimizzazione delle tabelle MyIsam, o di tutte. Sono semplicemente due diversi motori che, a seconda di come sono configurati, dovrebbero lavorar bene allo stesso modo (InnoDB oggi è lo standard), ma per chiarire questi dubbi o saperne di più dovresti rivolgerti ad un forum di MySQL.
