Ciao a tutti,
Utilizzo WP 3.5.2 Eng
shared hosting Linux
DB MySQL 5.0.95
PHP 5.3.16
Tema: iMagMag
Vorrei personalizzare i permalink del mio sito, ho provato tramite le impostazioni, ma se inserisco uno structure tag ricevo un messaggio 404 di errore.
Nella main directory del mio FTP server non c’è un file .htaccess quindi dovrei crearlo. Mi sapete dire se il file .htaccess deve contenere solo il mod_rewrite o ci deve essere altro codice? Una volta creato che permessi devo impostare?

prova ad inserire nel file .htaccess queste righe

Dovrebbe funzionarti.
Permessi mi sembra che basti un 644.

1) Hai settato il tuo ftp per vedere i file nascosti?
2) Se si e il file .htaccess non c’è ci sarà un motivo, apri un ticket con il provider e spiegagli la tua esigenza.

Si, i file nascosti li rilevo, ma non c’è un file .htaccess nella main directory; ce ne è uno in una sotto-directory di wp-content quando ho installato BackUpWordPress ma non credo mi interessi giusto?

Deve essere nella root, fai come ti ho detto, magari ti cambia versione di php o ti dice cosa scrivere nel file, magari una cosa di questo tipo AddHandler application/x-httpd-php53 .php prima delle istruzioni di wordpress

Ho controllato meglio ma non c’è nella root, prima di chiamare il provider provo a compilare il .htaccess. Se dovessi avere ancora l’errore 404 come faccio a ripristinare le vecchie impostazioni senza dover utilizzare il mio backup?

credo che se incorro nell’errore 404 non posso ritornare alla Dashboard perchè evidentemente saranno cambiati gli url; dovrei mettere mano a qualche file di configurazione in wp-admin ma non so quale.

Ci siamo riusciti, ma il sistema non mi permettava di modificare i permalink con permessi inferiori 777, sarà perchè uso uno shared hosting? Ora non posso lasciare il .htaccess con i permessi settati su 777, se li riporto a 644 le nuove pagine che avranno automaticamente la struttura che ho impostato ora (%postname%)?

A far cosa? Io non sono nella tua testa e nemmeno davanti al tuo pc, non conosco il nome del tuo sito ecc. ecc.. per il resto fai delle prove.
