Ciao a tutti,
da poco sono nel mondo di wordpress è chiaramente ho molte lacune.
Una di queste è sulla traduzione di un sito Wp in altre lingue.
Nel sito che sto facendo ho la necessita di tradurre il sito anche in inglese, ma non voglio tradurre in maniera automatica, ma inserendo i vari testi tradotti rispettivi.
Cercando nel web ho travato un un plugin –WPML– però è a pagamento, sembra avere tutte è due le funzioni, traduzione manuale e automatica.
Sarebbe bello se ci fosse una versione Opensorce.
Poi qualcuno invece consiglia di rifare il sito con la funzione network (multisito) e inserire le parti tradotte.
Però mi chiedo, va rinserito tutto a mano all’interno come se fosse un vero e proprio sito?, quindi templare, articoli, utenti, commenti ecc?
Allora vi scrivo per sapere la vostra, che sicuramente con la vostra lunga esperienza vi è sicuramente capitato almeno una volta di fare questa operazione.

WPML O qtranslate, il primo a pagamento (ma vale tutti soldiche costa) l’altro ottimo ma ostico da configurare.
La soluzione network ha senso solo se i contenuti saranno diversi.

ok grazie, ma che succede una volta comprato WPML,
se in futuro aggiorno WP con le nuove versioni, sarò costretto ad aggiornare anche il plugin rifacendo un abbonamento?

Questo dovresti chiederlo a chi vende WPML, non conosco le loro pratiche commerciali.

Molti utilizzano WPML perché credono alla “burla” che con qTranslate non sia possibile poi dividere i commenti dell’utenza nelle varie lingue e farli apparire solamente nella pagina corrispondente; e che non sia possibile utilizzare url diverse per pagine, post ed rss; e che il menù di navigazione (anche in dashboard) non possa essere diversificato per le varie lingue del sito web.
Anche quelli di wpml tirano acqua al loro mulino per questi due aspetti, e li pongono come sostanziali differenze con qT.
Con qualche base di php e javascript, nel senso di sapere in cosa si sta mettendo le mani, è invece semplicissimo apportare alcune modifiche (si copiano giusto le stringhe di codice necessarie in alcuni file o ci si crea un plugin apposito) per far sଠche anche con qTranslate avvenga quanto detto sopra.

quel link ti porta la suo sito dove ti racconta come attivare la modalità network e ti vende robe sue, non tratta minimamente del tuo problema dice solo come attivare la modalità network.
