Salve ragazzi, esiste un plugin per ricevere il backup del database via mail automaticamente?
Su consiglio di molti avevo WordPress Database Backup ma purtroppo da qualche tempo a questa parte non mi manda più le mail. Ho provato anche con caselle diverse ma niente da fare:(
edit: non riesco neanche a scaricarlo via browser non compare la finestra del download

Il primo test da fare è disattivare tutti gli altri plugin e mettere il tema di default

Ciao Titti, grazie per la risposta. Ho provato a disabilitare tutto però abilitando i plugin ad uno ad uno va in contrasto con troppi di essi.
Ad esempio va in contrasto con All in one Seo Pack, che penso sia un plugin usato da molti. Mi sembra strano.

Il test serve proprio a quello, per sapere se c’è qualche conflitto e con cosa. Ho avuto AIO e Database backup insieme fino a poco fa, e fino a poco fa andava tutto bene, bisognerebbe fare qualche ricerca nel web per vedere se altri hanno questo conflitto… nei supporti dei due plugin, io ora non ho tempo di controllare. Database backup di suo poi può funzionare a momenti alterni, dipende anche dal server e dalla sua capacità di memoria.
Comunque, non hai detto se funziona senza plugin attivati, e che significa “va in contrasto con troppi di essi”.

Con attivati solo 2 plugin (login lockdown e maintenance mode) funziona. Se ne attivo altri es AIO Seo Pack non funziona. Se attivo Category Icons non funziona. Se attivo Notepad funziona. Per quello dicevo va in contrasto con troppi plugin. Fosse il solo AIO potrebbe essere un problema tra i due plugin ma mi pare strano non funzioni con cosଠtanti plugin.
Per non funzionare intendo che se faccio il backup sul momento selezionando “scarica sul computer” la barra arriva al 100% ma non compare poi la finestra di download.
Non so che fare. Anche perchè se sono fortunato a trovare informazioni su AIO poi ho altri plugin con i quali ha problemi.
Ci sono altri plugin per il backup? Ho provato a cercare ma ne ho trovati solo due con server a pagamento dove scaricare i db.
Altri consigli? Ho provato a riscaricare WP Database Backup ma non funziona lo stesso. Ho notato però che teneva in memoria i dati della mail. Conviene cancellare proprio la cartella del plugin una volta disinstallato o non c’entra?

Escludendo le revisioni (che effettivamente non mi servono), funziona il download!
Non capisco però perchè funzionava senza i plugin. Vabbè poco male.
edit: funziona anche se lo mando via mail vedrò domani se funziona la mail programmata.

àˆ quasi sicuramente un problema dovuto a un PHP memory limit basso. Meno roba c’è attivata e meno risorse il sistema necessita.

Dato che parlavamo di php (leggendo sul forum inglese di WP mi sa che è proprio come dici tu) mi chiedevo se fosse sicuro tenerlo esposto o meno al pubblico, vedendo che sei un utente preparato volevo vedere come ti eri comportato tu in merito.
Non volevo essere malintenzionato sorry, anche perchè come ben capirai non ne sono nemmeno capace.
Sul momento eri il blog wordpress che avevo sotto mano.
Il fattore sicurezza mi preoccupa molto, quindi il vostro comportamento e le misure che prendete in merito le prendo d’esempio.
Probabilmente avrei fatto meglio a chiedertelo direttamente scusami

Ma figurati, stavo scherzando, non hai fatto niente di male. Personalmente il mio file di server info non è protetto quando è sul server, semplicemente non l’hai visto perché non hai trovato l’indirizzo giusto. Non lo sbandiero ai quattro venti, ma neanche credo sia necessario proteggerlo.
In ogni caso eventualmente si fa presto, basta tirarlo via e rimetterlo o rifarlo al momento del bisogno.
Sono altri i file che vanno assolutamente protetti, primo tra tutti il wp-config, mediante queste righe in .htaccess:
<files wp-config.php>
order allow,deny
deny from all
</files>
WordPress di suo protegge già le directory /wp-admin/ e /wp-includes/ (non la wp-content) mediante un file robots virtuale (poi lଠbisogna vedere se i bot lo rispettano, quelli di google par di sà¬).
Le precauzioni di sicurezza di base le trovi qui, e queste bisogna cercare di attuarle.
PS: non sono granché preparata, la risposta che ti ho dato è assolutamente su base empirica, dato che era capitato anche a me. Ci sono altri personaggi su questo forum che sono ben più preparati.

nel file .htaccess meglio aggiungere anche:
# disable directory browsing
Options All -Indexes
Per non rendere navigabili le directory, a quel punto i file html vuoti sono superflui..
Ho dato uno sguardo veloce (ctrl+F e cercato All -Indexes) al link che hai postato del codex e mi sembra che questa semplice regola l’abbiano dimenticata.
