A breve verrà rilasciata la nuova versione di WordPress che richiede almeno la versione 5.2.4 di PHP, il problema è che Aruba fornisce come versione stabile di PHP la 5.2.17 (specificando che la 5.3 al momento non è consigliata per i CMS).
Cosa ne pensate? Avete già fatto qualche test?

Questo problema interesserebbe anche me…molti hosting non supportano quella versione di PHP

Se non hai i requisiti minimi WP 3.2 non si installerà e non funzionerà se installato a mano.. come degradi e con che messaggio mai provato.. ma il requisito minimo è indispensabile…

su aruba ho questo messaggio in fianco alla 5.3: PHP5.3.x La versione attuale e maggiormente supportata. Caldamente consigliata.

Qui mi lasci interdetto diamine…io ho un dominio su Solodomini che ha la versione di Php 5.2.6
Vuol dire che mi fotto praticamente?
Brutta notizia che mi hai dato, ed ora che faccio? Lascio WP alla 3.1.4 e corro il rischio che il maintainer mi blocca tutto come già successo perchè considerava attaccabile WP o suoi plugins?
Uff…consigli e suggerimenti son ben accetti

WordPress 3.2 non è stato pubblicato come un aggiornamento di sicurezza; di ai dilettanti del tuo servizio host di leggere prima di sparar stroxxxte:::
Per aggiornare c’è quindi tempo!

WordPress 3.2 gira con minimo PHP 5.2.4 e MySQL 5.0. Pertanto nel tuo caso devi solo verificare se i plugins sono idonei e se mysql è almeno quella versione; col php sei apposto visto che affermi sia la 5.2.6

Ragazzi io ho scaricato WP 3.2 ma ho ancora (su Aruba) PHP Version 5.2.17. Posso star tranquillo o mi conviene aggiornare? Il blog sembra andare bene.

Come regola di base, come già ricordato da Steve, è ovvio che per essere tranquilli occorre rispettare i requisiti minimi.
Se proprio vuoi rischiare, o meglio agire con cognizione di causa, devi vedere le differenze fra la versione 5.2.17 e la 5.2.4 di PHP e capire se le modifiche potrebbero compromettere la tua installazione (partendo dal presupposto di conoscere come sono settati i servers del tuo hosting).

Detto questo, il mio post era orientato a capire se qualcuno aveva già usato la versione 5.3 di PHP su Aruba per WordPress (visto il messaggio minaccioso in rosso nella schermata di setup del PHP ), partendo dal presupposto che Aruba ha tutta una serie di impostazioni personalizzate sui servers.
Devo dire che Wolly con due installazioni senza problemi mi ha rassicurato. Cercate di non uscire dal tema del post parlando di altri hosting, perchè magari qualche problemuccio potrebbe uscire sui vari plugin (ehi non fate gli scongiuri che vi vedo eheh).

Veramente mi avevano riportato, preso non ricordo da dove su WordPress.org una parte dove si diceva che gli aggiornamenti tramite dashboard di alcuni plugins del repository contenevano codice pericoloso.
Quindi ci andrei cauto prima di dare dei dilettanti cosi alla buona

Ti avevano riportato ciò che chiunque poteva leggere da se andando a vedere le news, in tema sicurezza, che pubblica wordpress.org..

La nuova 3.2 invece NON parla di problemi di sicurezza, è stata annunciata ieri solo come releases:::

Significa che è un semplice aggiornamento, porta diverse migliorie, ma non chiude falle o bugs riscontrati nella versione precedente.
Pertanto aggiornare è consigliato, ma in taluni casi possiamo attendere per la compatibilità con i vari plugins installati nel nostro sito ed il tema.
In più ci sono molti host su cui ancora non gira una versione di php pari o superiore alla 5.2.4; motivo in più per sollecitare quelli del servizio di hosting a provvedere.

Fidati che in Italia i servizi host sono spesso gestiti da sistemisti dilettanti.. A parte alcuni che potremmo contare sulle dita di un valente falegname in pensione.. E questi pochi validi spesso vanno a lavorare altrove, all’estero.

Per evitare problemi ho aggiornato anche io su Aruba il PHP ed il sito sembra andare perfettamente.
Non ho capito solo una cosa (spero non vi dispiaccia aiutarmi nonostante sia un quesito su Aruba), nel Contro Panel se clicco su Versione PHP mi segna ancora la 5.2. Se però vado su Servizi Hosting Linux (dove ho cambiato versione PHP) mi segna 5.3.
Non devo fare altro aspettando che aggiornino loro il control panel?
Scusatemi ma sono al primo aggiornamento “serio” di Wp con versioni nuove di PHP ecc.

Per essere sicuro della versione di PHP che stai utilizzando non basarti su quanto vedi nel control panel, ma fai un phpinfo(); su una pagina provvisoria.
Mi raccomando cancella la pagina di test una volta raccolte le informazioni che ti servono.
Anche a me succede la stessa cosa, ma controllando direttamente a mano, la versione di PHP risulta corretta.

Pensiamo che 5.2.4 è una release del 30 agosto 2007:::

Mentre la 5.2.17 uscଠin data successiva, fine 2010 o inizio 2011 (esattamente non ricordo):::

(il numero 17 non è forse più grande del numero 4?)
Quindi i server aruba superano il requisito minimo del php che chiede la 3.2
L’argomento si potrebbe chiudere, giacché il php che gira sui server aruba è idoneo.
Semmai la compatibilità è ristretta ad alcuni temi e plugins che non lavorano con WordPress 3.2. Ma questo è un altro discorso da affrontare caso per caso con chi troverà problemi..
