Sono all’inizio, e sto utilizzando il tema di default (Twenty Ten 1.2 di the WordPress team).
Poichè il blog che sto facendo è di soli racconti, vorrei cambiare “Articoli” in “Racconti”.
Ho cercato “Articoli” con dreamweawer ma lo ha trovato soltanto sul file “readme.html”.
Come posso fare?

Impossibile trovare parole italiane nei file originali dato che sono in inglese.
La traduzione italiana del backend e del tema di default è inserita grazie a due file di localizzazione chiamati it_IT con estensione .po e .mo, che trovi nella cartella languages dentro la directory wp_content, e certamente li puoi modificare, con un software scaricabile che si chiama Poedit.
Però prima di fare lavori inutili sarei curiosa di sapere dove vuoi sostituire il termine “articoli”
Sul sito, immagino, non nel pannello di amministrazione, ma dove esattamente?

grazie… la pensavo più facile…
dove voglio modificare è come appare sul sito. Cioè: se dalla bacheca faccio clic su “articoli” ((immagino che “articoli” sia la localizzazione di “post”, e qui può benissimo restare cosà¬: lo vedo dolo io), posso inserire un titolo ed un contenuto . A quel punto, quando lo pubblico, sul blog visibile a tutti appare “Articoli recenti” e sotto il titolo/link. Vorrei che “Articoli recenti” diventasse “Racconti”.
Magari puoi suggerirmi un modo più lineare di ottenere il risultato?

Se ti riferisci al widget “articoli recenti”, puoi metterci il titolo che vuoi
Se invece appare in pubblicazione l’unico modo è cambiare la frase nel file di localizzazione, individuando quella giusta naturalmente, dato che la parola “articoli” sarà nominata parecchie volte.

allora: ho scaricato poedit, aperto il file it_IT.po (l’unico che poedit “vede”: tu parlavi anche di “it_IT.mo”….?) e sostituito “archivi” con “racconti”. Quando sono andato a salvare, sono usciti questi errori, ai quali non so come rimediare.

Il file .mo non deve essere editato, è generato in seguito alle modifiche del file .po.
Dopo aver modificato il .po bisogna quindi generare un nuovo .mo per far sଠche le modifiche vengano trasmesse
Dovrebbe farlo automaticamente dopo il salvataggio del .po, controlla quindi d’aver selezionato la voce “compila automaticamente il file .mo…” (Editor)

ho controllato, l’opzione “compila automaticamente il file .mo…” è selezionata di default ed io non l’ho toccata.
Nel riaprire il file con poedit, vedo che nella colonna “Traduzione” le modifiche da “articoli” a “racconti” sono state prese, ma al momento di salvarlo dà lo stesso errore già postato. E nel blog è rimasto “Archivi”.
