Ciao a tutti.
Ho fatto un’analisi di alcuni post del blog con pagespeed.googlelabs.com e il primo problema sono le dimensioni delle immagini.
Ho letto un po’ di discussioni qui nel forum e ho capito come gestire al meglio le immagini per il futuro.
Il mio problema sono le immagini già pubblicate. Ad esempio in questo post bit.ly/i5KT1U ci sono 3 immagini visualizzate ad una dimensione inferiore ma in realtà sono molto grandi.
Dal pannello di WP si possono solo tagliare e non ridimensionare quindi pensavo di ottimizzare le immagini e ricaricarle via ftp andando a sostituirle.
In questo modo creo qualche problema?
Poi ho un dubbio per quanto riguarda le miniature. Quando si aggiungono le immagini da WP vengono create in automatico 2 miniature. A cosa servono? Si può disattivare?

Non c’è nessun problema a farlo via FTP, aldilà del fatto di cancellare per sbaglio qualche foto che non riconosci dal nome (si può far confusione, visto che sono moltiplicate x 3), ma se hai tutto il blocco da togliere questo problema non c’è.
L’unica cosa è quella perché se le sostituisci con lo stesso nome e nella stessa cartella è la stessa cosa, a meno che non siano immagini in evidenza, in quel caso WP deve creare le miniature e quindi devi caricarle via admin.
Ridimensiona le immagini con un programma di grafica come Photoshop e salvale con “salva per web”, di modo che la risoluzione vada in automatico a 76 o 96 dpi (dipende dalla foto) e cerca di non superare la larghezza di 640-650 pixel.
WP ne crea 3, l’originale, la media e la miniatura, servono perché potresti scegliere di visualizzare quella che vuoi.

Il fatto di volerlo fare via ftp è solo per comodità . Mi scarico la cartella uploads e modifico tutte le immagini con photoshop (magari riesco ad automatizzare) e poi ricarico in blocco.

Automatizzare l’ottimizzazione foto… non saprei, ogni foto è diversa, però, non so, dipende da quante foto e dal tempo che hai.

Infatti ho optato per farlo a mano. Sono tante immagini, ne faccio un po’ al giorno.

Con Photoshop quando usi il comando salva per web ti conviene aprire la finestra con 4 immagini (vedi le linguette in alto sopra l’immagine che devi salvare)
In questo modo puoi avere l’immagine da salvare e altre tre finestre dove puoi far apparire la stessa parte dell’immagine che salveresti con i parametri impostati, e che possono essere diversi per poter valutare la qualità dell’immagine salvata.
Si vedono anche le varie velocità di apertura sul web a seconda del modem usato.
Molto indicativamente, direi che stare dentro i 90-100 KB per le foto più grandi è una norma accettabile, entro i 40-50 KB per quelle medie, entro i 20 KB per le piccole, ma io ne ho anche di inferiori a 10 KB, dipende.
