La domanda è praticamente già nel titolo.. Ad oggi, quali sono le possibili alternative per aggiungere la possibilità di votare i post? (inteso appunto come rating, quindi le classiche stelline).
Ok, c’è GD star rating.. ma per quello di cui ho bisogno, è decisamente troppo, nel senso che a me servono solo le stelline nei post e al massimo (ma non essenziale) un widget che mi elenchi i più votati (o meglio ancora quelli con voto più alto). Ergo non mi servono voti/rating per i post, thumb up/down, millemila statistiche o personalizzazioni ad appesantire il tutto.
Ho provato il plugin polldaddy, che come funzione secondaria ha anche quella del rating. Escludendo i poll che non mi servono, questo sarebbe già più indicato in quanto semplice e più leggero, ma ha la pecca di richiedere un account polldaddy da sincronizzare.. e ogni volta che si carica la pagina, bisogna anche attendere il caricamento dal server polldaddy appunto.. il che uccide i tempi di caricamento della pagina. Se poi esiste anche un modo per usarlo senza account ecc, sono in ascolto
Ci sarebbe wp-postratings, ma è un pò che non viene aggiornato e a quanto ho capito al momento l’autore si dedica (giustamente) più al lavoro e ad altre cose piuttosto che ai plugin per wp.. quindi non ho provato ad installarlo perchè non vorrei ci fossero poi problemi di compatibilità o altro.
Voi cosa usate.. e cosa consigliate?

Come sempre, grazie per le tue risposte
GD l’ho già usato diverse volte in altri siti con wp, quindi bene o male lo conosco. In questo particolare caso invece cercavo appunto qualcosa di ridotto all’osso sia come funzioni sia come “peso” sul caricamento delle pagine, perchè so già che su questo sito non sfrutterò mai le varie funzioni di GD, quindi sarebbe superfluo, considerando anche che di plugin ne avrei già fin troppi per i miei gusti (ma mi servono tutti) e quindi per le ultime modifiche di cui ho bisogno vorrei, dove possibile, mettere solo quello che mi serve e nulla di più.
Comunque, se mi dici che attualmente non ci sono alternative valide, tornerò su quello.

di plugin per far votare i post ce ne sono tantissimi, alcuni molto validi, quindi secondo me delle alternative più leggere e meno complesse ci sono, per esempio

qualcosa di più recente c’è?
Visto che mi parli di “tantissimi, alcuni molto validi”, consigliami direttamente quelli che ritieni più validi in base alle tue esperienze, cosଠnon dobbiamo andare avanti ad esempi o a plugin abbandonati
anche perchè nel titolo ho scritto “che funzioni su 3.0.1” non a caso.. e nel post ho scritto che altri tipo wp-postratings (che tempo fa usavo.. e lo userei anche ora se non fosse fermo dal 2009) non li provo perchè non aggiornati da tempo.. quindi non vorrei avere problemi sia di compatibilità con wp, che con altri plugin.. o comunque anche se funzionassero, non vorrei avere problemi al prossimo aggiornamento.. perchè comunque il destino dei plugin obsoleti prima o poi è quello. Certo, il plugin “eterno” non esiste.. prima o poi bisogna cambiare.. però iniziare con un plugin che al momento dell’installazione è già vecchio di parecchi mesi (o anni), mi pare poco consigliabile.
Poi, di liste di plugin fatti dai vari siti (che si copiano lo stesso articolo tra di loro traducendolo in varie lingue o scopiazzandolo brutalmente) ne ho viste parecchie, ma anche in quel caso, la maggior parte dei plugin sono ormai obsoleti e non vengono portati avanti.
Perchè ovviamente, se per trovare l’alternativa a tutti i costi devo mettere un plugin con dei problemi, o mal supportato dallo sviluppatore ecc, allora tanto vale tornare a GD che almeno può dare qualche sicurezza in più sotto questi aspetti.

Comunque, se mi dici che attualmente non ci sono alternative valide, tornerò su quello.
Valuta l’ipotesi di implementare un codicillo in javascript allora, magari per la necessità che hai bisogno.

Paleoseti, link molto interessanti dopo me li leggo con calma e magari faccio qualche prova.
Provvisoriamente sono tornato a GD.. e disattivando tutto il disattivabile, lasciando solo le poche cose di cui ho bisogno, sono arrivato ad un compromesso accettabile, anche se non mi soddisfa del tutto. Quindi faccio con piacere qualche test seguendo questa strada che mi hai proposto e poi a seconda dei risultati prenderò una decisione definitiva.
