Salve a tutti,
sono nuovo di WordPress.
Sto portando il mio vecchio sito su piattaforma WP. Per fare questo ho convertito il mio abbonamento Aruba in hosting Linux.
La mia intenzione è di creare:
– PAGINA INIZIALE: o flash o html semplice con immagine e link alle varie parti del sito (blog1, foto, fotoblog, blog2)
– SOTTODIRECTORY: /blog, /photos, /blog2, etc. Ogni parte del sito dovrà a vere temi diversi.
Ho installato WP nella root del mio sito.
1) Mi conviene invece fare installazioni multiple di WP, ognuna in una sottodirectory diversa (/blog1, /photo, etc) al fine di usare temi diversi per ogni tipo di contenuto? In pratica è come se fossero tutti blog diversi…
2) In questo caso, devo crearmi diversi database sql (ne ho 5 credo con Aruba)?
3) Si può avere un’installazione unica, e lavorare con temi diversi (mi pare si possa, usando template diversi per ogni pagina)? Qual è la soluzione più semplice e più manutenibile?
4) Che temi (gratuiti) consigliate per racconti e photogallery?
Un’ultima cosa: dato che ho sia hosting windows che linux, il mio sito vecchio è in windows e il dominio punta all’hosting windows. Ovviamente ora sto lavorando in lnx.paolobusolin con WP, con l’idea che quando sarà tutto pronto, configuro Aruba in modo che punti di default all’hosting Linux. Ma il fatto che tutta la struttura del sito sia del tipo lnx.paolobusolin etc, non mi creerà problemi?

Dimenticavo: per il fotoblog, dovrò importarlo da tumblr, usando uno dei tool di importazione. Si può importare blog in una pagina specifica di un’installazione WP, o è necessario avere una nuova installazione, magari in sottodirectory dedicate (come dicevo prima).

Provo a darti qualche spunto…
Partendo dalla cosa più facile, ovvero i temi: sul sito ufficiale di wp, nella sezione “extend” trovi una marea di plugin e temi da scaricare gratuitamente. Comincerei a cercare là¬. Anche perchè poi di siti che permetto di scaricare temi ce ne sono tantissimi, ma in certi casi non sai cosa vai a scaricare, mentre dal sito di wp dovresti avere qualche sicurezza in più. Di ogni tema puoi vedere l’anteprima quindi puoi farti l’idea di come sono anche senza scaricarli. Un consiglio che mi sento di dare sempre è quello di non basarsi solo sul fattore estetico, ma valutare anche le funzionalità , tipo opzioni aggiuntive, personalizzazioni ecc.. e trovare quello che più si avvicina alle proprie esigenze.
Magari fatti anche un giro nei plugin, perchè sicuramente potrebbero servirtene diversi per offrire più servizi all’utenza o per aggiungere funzionalità utili a te nella gestione (tipo plugin per gallery fotografiche più avanzate di quella integrata, possibilità di votare post/pagine/commenti, widget vari ecc).
Per quanto riguarda invece la struttura del sito e come gestirla, a mio parere molto dipende anche dalla quantità di dati che inserirai su questi blog, quanta utenza prevedi di avere, ecc ecc, perchè comunque devi anche considerare che il pacchetto completo va poi a gravare sulle risorse di un singolo piano hosting. Perchè ok che Aruba dichiara banda illimitata, spazio web illimitato ecc, ma questi sono termini più pubblicitari che altro, perchè comunque lo spazio hosting risiede su di un server che viene suddiviso tra tot clienti/spazi web.. e un server ovviamente ha un hard disk, della ram, processori e cosଠvia.. e tutte queste cose hanno un limite. Quindi è ovvio che se tu vai ad impegnare troppe risorse, ne risentono anche tutti i vari siti con cui condividi la macchina.. e a quel punto c’è il rischio che comincino a bloccarti l’account o a mandarti avvisi vari. In particolare se i tuoi siti, tutti assieme su di un singolo spazio hosting generano un gran numero di richieste verso il database.
Capiamoci, non voglio parlar male di Aruba, visto che io sono loro cliente da qualche anno con diversi hosting, però quanto scritto sopra è una cosa normale che succede con la maggior parte delle offerte che non specificano i limiti del proprio contratto, a prescindere dal provider.
Tutto questo discorso non è appunto per tirare fuori discussioni sui fornitori di servizi hosting, ma per dire che se tu decidi su di un singolo spazio, d’installare 3,4,5 wp separati, sଠche hai 5 “slot” disponibili per i database e quindi puoi farlo, ma dall’altro diventa una cosa impegnativa in fatto di risorse (perchè ovviamente, sଠche i contenuti sono sempre quelli, ma moltiplichi le risorse necessarie per gestire le varie installazioni). Quanto impegnativa, dipende da quanto materiale carichi, quante pagine ci sono, quanti plugin appesantiscono le varie installazioni e più di tutti, quanti utenti contemporanei si collegano ai vari blog e quante risorse usano nel navigare tra le pagine, vedere le immagini ecc. Quindi se l’utenza fosse esigua, potresti anche permetterti di installare diversi wp tutti insieme e vedere come regge l’hosting, ma se hai un livello d’utenza già di un certo livello, in breve tempo avresti problemi, sia nel sito (velocità apertura pagine, momenti di stallo..) che con il provider (che nota un eccessivo consumo di risorse).
Quindi dovresti prima farti un pò di conti.. e magari spiegarci bene qui il tutto: i numeri che prevedi, quanto materiale devi ospitare, i servizi che vuoi aggiungere, come i diversi blog devono interagire tra loro (essere solo collegati tramite link, oppure condividere l’utenza, ecc) e cosଠvia, in modo che sia più facile ragionarci su e capire se ti conviene usare un solo wp e trovare modi alternativi per suddividere i contenuti, o continuare sull’idea delle installazioni separate, oppure utilizzare una struttura multi-blog (installazione singola ma con possibilità di gestire dei “sottoblog”).
Secondo me questo è il punto da cui iniziare. Poi ovviamente, è solo il mio personalissimo parere.. ci sono sicuramente persone più competenti di me in materia che possono consigliarti meglio.

è sicuramente la soluzione migliore e sul sito ufficiale che ti ho linkato trovi tutte le info.

è sicuramente la soluzione migliore e sul sito ufficiale che ti ho linkato trovi tutte le info.
Esattamente, infatti è una delle 3 possibilità che ho elencato, però c’è sempre un però.
Sicuramente avrai usato WPMU oppure la funzione multiblog, visto che la giudichi la soluzione migliore.. e ti dirò che anche io ritengo che sia la soluzione migliore a livello pratico, perchè con una sola installazione gestisci tutto, non hai problemi di numero db ecc ecc. Ma altrettanto sicuramente avrai notato che:
Su molti serivizi hosting WPMU è sempre stato impossibile o quasi da installare.
Su hosting Aruba è sempre stato “ufficialmente” impossibile e quindi con questo provider il requisito minimo era un vps (ufficialmente è tra virgolette perchè il problema è legato alla questione del “www” e dei link di wpmu.. se non sbaglio aruba stessa nei ticket d’assistenza dice che su hosting non si può fare nulla, ma comunque esistono delle strade alternative con cui riuscire a far andare il tutto, anche se non sono cosଠimmediate come la normale installazione ovviamente).
In generale comunque, anche wpmu le sue belle risorse le consuma rispetto ad un singolo wp, quindi se si hanno molte visite il servizio hosting può andare in crisi anche con questa soluzione.. ed è il motivo per cui la maggior parte delle persone che hanno installato wpmu sono partite da un vps, anche se comunque cercando in giro ci sono anche hosting specializzati in (o che comunque dichiarano di supportare) wpmu, ma ovviamente anche loro con determinati limiti in fatto di utenti e numero di sottoblog gestibili.
Come sai, quando si lavora in multisite, ci sono due modi distinti per installare i plugin: renderli disponibili per il solo blog principale, oppure estenderli anche ai sottoblog, però siccome non tutti i plugin supportano il multisite, c’è il rischio che molti vadano solo sul blog principale ma non nei sottoblog.. il che in certi casi può essere molto limitante.
Cosà¬, tralasciando qualche altro piccolo problema.. e confidando nel fatto che con l’integrazione della funzione multisite direttamente un wp 3.0 le cose siano migliorate un pò, la conclusione è che non ho voluto consigliare direttamente una soluzione precisa perchè sia con installazioni separate, sia con il multisite di wp, con l’attuale servizio hosting potrebbe incorrere in problemi in entrambi i casi.
Appunto perchè in entrambi i casi, parliamo sempre di un consumo di risorse “importante” legato ad un servizio hosting (che per quanto sia valido, resta pur sempre nella fascia di quelli economici). Quindi anche ipotizzando che con entrambe le soluzioni si ottengano identici risultati, ci potrebbe comunque essere la possibilità che il tutto sia troppo. Ma questo appunto dipende da quanti sottoblog vorrebbe creare, dal numero di utenti, quanti unici e quanti contemporanei, il numero di pagine visitate per singolo utente, il numero di query al DB (importantissimo) e cosଠvia.
Quindi per questo sarebbe meglio prima valutare quale soluzione sia la migliore per il caso specifico (e magari la migliore non è nessuna delle due di cui si discute qui sopra)e solo dopo consigliare.

@Papersi beh non ho perlato dei requisiti perchè sul sito ufficiale viene spiegato tutto nel dettaglio…poi nn conosco Aruba ma con un traffico molto elevato si possono incontrare come hai detto tu problemi di sovraccarico vari.
Si può avere un’installazione unica, e lavorare con temi diversi (mi pare si possa, usando template diversi per ogni pagina)? Qual è la soluzione più semplice e più manutenibile?
certo è possibile e forse è la soluzione migliore dal punto di vista risorse-hosting e anche della gestione perchè hai una sola installazione. Ecco qualche link utile:
